The Older Eshu looks to August "You all may wish to back up"

Zara raises an eyebrow, and quietly interposes herself between Tzip and the gate.

Tzip huffs and mutters low "Siiiss, you're embarrassing me"

A breath, and FIRE rains down on the gate, the metal bars of the gate grow red, then blue... then begin to melt!

A soft hiss and she shields her eyes.

Tizzy blocks her sister's face with a free hand to let her ease the light more

And now the path is clear

Tiny applause for Ruz.

"Thank you, thank you" She bows "Let it cool a bit, then we'll be through"

(August did, indeed, back up and shielded his eyes from the burning glow.)

It cools, and they can pass on

Zara allows the eshu or August to lead.

August takes point again.

And they find themselves in the last stretch of the trod before it ends. There is a chimerical kitten off the trod in a box that says 'do not feed after midnight'

August observes this, but does not engage.

Another kitten in the box pops up, a tiny collar on the black cat's neck is labeled 'Midnight'

"Lures." he comments quietly.

A soft chuff of laughter, amused.

"But they're SOO cute" Tzip says

Ruzgarla tuts "The lord's right, Lure"

August leads on.

Tzip SIGHS and looks so tempted, but follows.. because her sister would stop her probably

And just like that, they're in Canada. The Autumn world

August shivers as they transition.

Zara sighs a little, a tiny mourning of that-self.

Ruzgarla and Tziporah both shiver as well

And Tzip mutterss "If I lost a story in there, so help me"

August looks around, taking stock and getting his bearings.

The trod has opened up to the shadow of a tower of light, ignoring the paradox of same.

Once by the waters, time and tide have conspired to take it from shore to deeper inland of the island they're on

"Oh," Tzip pulls out her phone, "There's a ferry off of here, the Light house is SUPPOSED to be closed but boy it has a lot of glamour"

"A stronghold of the Duke?" August wonders.

"Ferry, aye? Do we see the freehold?"

"The storiees I hear are that the Duke's hold here is one of the oldest houses, not a light house" Ruzgarla says

"I don't see the freehold from here, sis. Big CIty by Canadian standards"

"Aye, but the fire at a ducal hold should sing..." She closes her eyes.
