Sylvi has her spear at the ready as she moves into the near Dreaming, and her eyes are sharply surveying the edges of the silver.

She knows.. knew this terrain , but it's all thrown about. Chimerical forests now seem to have stripes of warmer climes thrown in it... likely to eventually be restored, but still, is that a swamp where there used to be ever greens?

Olgar tapes the silver that looks fresh and shining

"It's...it's like somebody put a puzzle together wrong...." she says, staring at the terrain.

She bites her lip, feeling the urge to try to fix this now...but the priority are the missing fae.

Through out the terrain are nightmare chimera, unmable to get on the silver, but stalking in greater numbers than before off it

They hiss and spit, one looks like an Elk sized shaved cockatoo with metal claws "Let us on the silver... " hisss

"Not gonna happen," she mutters, then looks to her father.

"Not even a little" he says then says "Bet the Centaur said no too. You poor sap"

She look back at the cockatoo, thinking, Nice, Dad. Goad him into giving info.

"Centaur?" SPit "The others were hunting that, but aye, he tried to deny us... that island will not protect him forever, IF it stops drifting"

Olgar smirks "Oooo bald birds. Those are always sscary, aren't they, Sylvi?"

"Looks plucked, like a chicken right before Mom cooks it."

She glances around to see if she can spot a floating island.

"HISS! " Few can resist Sylvi's mean girl skills when she uses them, "Bitch! FOol! You think I wouldn't be hunting him as well if those stronger than I already hadnt already claimed the right? Nay, your friend will fall before Thallian!"

"Well, good thing you know how weak you are," Sylvi says as she moves forward on the silver as if the nightmare were of no consequence. "Ready, Dad?"

"Ready" Olgar sees no Island, neither does she. He frowns, and looks at her "How's your spring power, kiddo?" As they walk on

"Pretty good. And I remember that I've used it in the Dreaming before. I've got an itch to just try to...y'know...heal everything. But it's a lot."

Olgar may realize that she's underselling herself. Pretty good isn't exactly accurate. She mastered Spring a while ago, he might recall.

A smile "I need you to break out the big one.. the one that lets me have someone for a day who is.. long gone. Try it. Take this" He hands her a sliver of glass, "And use it on it. Bring it back"

A blink. "Wow." She takes the sliver and turns it in her hands, carefully. "This is gonna take a few minutes," she warns him.

"I know" He says "I'm going to use you to cheat."

"Um. Okay. Now? Or...?"

"Now would be good" He says "I'll be bunking something else while you do that" He bends down to the silver and doodles

She nods and kneels on the silver, setting down her spear behind her. She very carefully sets the shard of glass on the silver path, "planting" it either by mime or by actually embedding it shallowly in the Silver if she can. She then takes a small packet from her backpack, opens it, and tilts it, carefully shaking some kind of seeds into a circle around the shard. As she works, she sings...

Inch by inch, row by row
Gonna make this garden grow
All it takes is a rake and a hoe
And a piece of fertile ground
Inch by inch, row by row
Someone bless these seeds I sow
Someone warm them from below
Till the rain comes tumblin' down...

She bends forward to blow upon the shard, giving it a bit of her own glamour as she does so.

It pops and slip and slides and reforms... the shard reforms into a crystal ball!

And it speaks "Only once may you ask me for knowledge, before I shatter and depart. Only once and know that.. wait... what the hell?" The crystal ball says "This isn't how this works"

"Uh...no, I think we're doing it a bit differently. My dad wants to speak with you."

"Yup. GOt a favor to ask"

Olgar says that "And don't gripe about how you already shattered. I found a loophole"

"You found a cheat is what it was. This story has no sacrifice if you can just yank me back after using me" It says snootily "The basis of a good story is conflict and consequence"

"Yeah yeah" Olgar keeps working "I seek a Centaur named Jordan, he floats on a sliver or island of silver. Guide this buddding temporary trod I am forming, show me the way, as you showed me the way before "

"You must CARE for the one you seek, Ogre" It sneers "And ... oh shit. You care, don't you? Not as much for the woman you rescued last time, but you care for this boy like..."

"Just show me the way" Olgar says bluntly

Sylvi's brow furrows as she listens.

"A cheat is what it is... but some of us are true to our natures, ogre" A silver path starts to form, and the glass orb casts a light on it, and seems to direct it's growth "Say, whatever happened to that woman you saved?"

"I married her" Olgar answers

"Does she remember?" the orb inquires

Sylvi smiles at that.

"The marriage? yes. The rescue? Nah. Back then, if I boasted about it, she thought I was just trying to score points or make her feel obligated. "

"Okay, you are so telling me this story."

"Oh am I" The Rover says and steps onto the new fork that's forming and expects her to follow

The crystal ball hurumphs "A cheat is what it is..." And cracks... and splinters.. but the trod keeps growing

"Wait! But...Colton! What about Colton!" She looks frantically at her father and the globe in turn.

the globe breaks apart with a "one..question.. only.." And is done, just a shard again.

"No!!"

Olgar looks a bit guilty, but only for moment "I... sorry"
