Then finally, they open the double set of doors ,and there is the library

A happy purr.

"Bronte shall be jealous."

They swing it open, and oh boy will she!

"Ooo.." She croons. Rusalka or sluagh, she is Zara.

Oh were she any kith she would want books. She knows this from Cookies past

Earl flutters up to a high point and looks about reading titles aloud " 'The Fudamentals of Hold Construction by Master Dugald of House Dougal' 'Utrachennyye mechty slavyan,' 'Lady Livinius - a tale of 88 lovers around the world'"

Zara flits from shelf to shelf, the glutton.

And she almost forgets she can't squirm as she tries to squeeze into some of the books. But that aside.. oh yes, she gets lost in so many different options

There are so many books of odd and rare nature. She has been to the GREAT library, of course. But there's just so many that it's hard to pick, and sort. She's got her night vision, but she's used to keener eyes.

Then Earl speaks up, "Love, is there something specific you seek?" As if he may have found something

"No, naught specific."

"Well, 'Utrachennyye mechty slavyan seems to be about.. various kiths and the like of the Rus and other Slavic lands" Earl has flipped through it "Including Rusalka. And, behind the shelf, a scroll fell"

"Ooo..."

Zara scampers up to join him, and leans over to see what fell - presenting a pert rear to the gargoyle.

It's a good thing he's not Winter.. or heaven help him, Spring. That said, a smirk crosses his features, and the pert rear gets a tail bumping against it.. even as she pulls out the scroll

A sly grin, and she plants herself on his lap to read the scroll.

"Well, this is a fine how do you do" But his protest is oddly weak. Strange that. I could stay with her always like this... watching her delight, from books, to river, to .. no Earl. You're not a gargoyle. Well, I AM but not.. darn it

"I hath trapped thee." Wickedly, and she does a little wiggle-dance of triumph.

The scroll is.. a spell, a one shot spell! HOw very D&D.. an enchanted cantrip stored within. And it must be old for such magics are not common these days.

Earl feels his blood heat and much stir at the wiggle, and no doubt she feels the stiring as well, "I am your most eager captured prey"

"Ohh...." SHe reads, to discover what KIND of spell...

And a little noise of surprise and anticipation. "Oh, very captured." She twists, leaning in to graze his throat.

Transformation ...to infuse the ..well, apparently it varies abit according to the caster, but it transforms Daughters of Eve , a group of them, on a path of justice, revenge, or just plain mayhem. In the ancient times it might transform them forever. Sadly, if used today in the Autumn World. it would likely last only for a mist covered hour. Pity. If a satyr were to use it, one might turn them into amazons, or maeneds...of a sort. A troll, perhaps Spear maidens ...

"How wonderful! A shame it may not last forever..."

and speaking of girl power, Earl groans softly at the nibble . Oh yes. Very captured but ready to burst loose

"What is it?" He asks as much to keep himself distracted

She shifts her hips, just a bit. "A spell, to turn human maids into wild things - to maenads, to bacchai, to spear-maids... powerful and wild..."

"And if cast by one of sluagh kind?" Curious.. nevermind that 'powerful and wild' are not words that help him settle

"Mmm... it may well be rusalka, let me see if it says..."

"Banshee, too, might suit.."

"Scary" He says

It' could vary but both seem possible.... particularly near a river the drowning maids might be the case, where as away from it, some other form might be needed. It could also be something as simple as warrior women with noctural touches

"Only a little. But for justice? Sluagh wish to instruct, after all."

"Yes.." He says glad she remembers that "Lord Exile seems quite skilled at transformation of others. Perhaps his only variance"

"Aye. Yet he himself is fixed, it seems."

"Yes. And in a pocket so few can get TO him. No trods that last near him . It's a gilded cage. " A nod

"Aye. I would help him. he has been kind to me."

"I fear he hopes we stay in our forms to shift in his pagentry. The price he offers Lady Agenthe.. I always thought her as a rock...immovable. Even as a sidhe it surprises me how tempted she is to remain and become his right hand"

"Mmm.. well, why not? I like this. I feel good."

For a rusalka of Troubadour legacy, it's not hard to guess that it's more than being a sidhe, or even being young. Great Aunt Agnes may not burn for a touch as a grump of her years... but she might be more lonely than some know.

"We could be free here. I could swim with my sisters, and you could be my watcher, as I have so often watched thee..."

"Yes, love, but this is not who the Dreaming wanted us to be..." He says "These kiths do not exist that we know of"

He stirs tempted

"Nay, but here... the sharpness of my teeth, the webbing of my fingers - I remember, I do... in the Dreaming, deep enough, I may have such frills."

"Perhaps this is da'an?"

"That I may be so soft and sharp at once, that I may sing, that we have no cares but pleasure...."

"Perhaps... but, Bronte, the library, your famiies? You would not miss?"
