On the trod of the Near Dreaming, Zane looks about "Can't tell you how excited I am to be doing this. I mean, I've been on quests before, but still"

A quiet eyebrow.

"Many Dreaming ones?"

"One to a great market recently and .uhm.." A pause "okay, not so many dreaming ones"

He looks sheepish

"Have you passed to the Far or Deep Realms? If not, be prepared... it shall change you."

"Once.. it was all I could do not to..well, let's just say it was a test of willpower" he admits "Don't worry, I can handle it" Firm look

Earl raises a brow "It's not so much how you handle it, as how you let it handle you. Direct it"

The Near Dreaming resembles Late Missouri Summer, a touch hot and humid and perhaps too sunny for Zara's liking, but with her parosel to cover , tolerable

"Truth, all of our instincts become... strong."

"What are sluagh instincts like?" he asks "I know satyr ones"

"Well, what would you guess?" For a moment, she sounds rather like a whispery Emmitt.

"I imagine a fascination with fear grows, either spooking others or relating to things that do. " He ponders "And..secrecy. Folks can barely here you here.. in the Near Dreaming, silent... but..wow, it's amazing sluagh go out at adventures at all sometimes. I'm missing something there"

Earl looks amused at this

"Because what do Sluagh love even more than fear?"

"Secrets.. knowledge.. information" Zane says "Ah, so that's what causes you to creep out. " He says "Interesting ..no wonder so many of you are of an academic bent."

"I am, after all, a Librarian."

Earl's eyes sparkle. He dare not smile too much even with pride.

"But boggans seek knowledge too, don't they ? And they exchange theirs freely" zane says

"Feh."

"Boggans gossip."

"Well, yes, but isn't that just another way of exchanging knowledge? Who is to say it's really less efficient?" Zane is no stranger to debate

Earl chimes in "Nobles turn to boggans to get a feel for how their people are doing. They turn to sluagh to find out who the real threats to their people are. That should tell you a lot"

"And boggans do not oft concern themselves with history, with the occult, with many things. I grant, they are master at reading relationships."

"So you're saying that they cast a net that appears wide but is shallow?" Zane says

At this moment, they see a knight in full armor further up on the road. Shining armor, fluttering green cloak, magnificent fae steed. His shield bears the marks of House Daireann.

"That seems apt, aye." Zara shields her eyes with a hand, peering ahead.

Said knight is not ON the horse, but rather checking it's front right hoof with concern as he stands next to it.

Zara makes a 'caution' gesture as she observes.

Zane stops and ..well shushes.

Good lad.

Earl , already versed, nods quietly.

Zara is not far in the dreaming,but her ears are keen. She can hear the man talking to the horse "How did you throw a shoe on a trod? You silly mare" His tone is not harsh, rather frustrated, and trying to stay affectionate

"Mind, they are sensitive to insult. Make him feel the gracious host, aye? We should be able to pass."

Zane whispers "They don't like satyrs much. Some old beef about some 'satyr temptress'" he looks nervous "I think I'll hang near Earl as we walk by"

"Noted."

As they approach, the Daireann turns "Hold a moment, please. Have any of the three of you seen a horse shoe about or near the trod?"

An eyebrow, and she does look.

And she sees it.. hanging from a tree branch, a silver hoof.. about five feet off the trod. It must have hooked perfectly

A soft hiss. "Oh, that is most unfortunate..."

"mm?" A frown "Blast it" As it shows "Well.. even a fool knows not to step off the silver" the knight says "And yet..." A look at the troll "Pardon me, I do not know you, and have not told any of you who I am. Let me rectify my part. I am Sir Mykron"

"Sir." A deep nod. "I am called Raven, and my companions are Hunter and Denys."

The Satyr bows.

The Daireann nods "Miss Raven, Sir Hunter.." A little less fondness "Denys. Could I enllist your aid in reaching this shoe? "

"Hunter, thinkest thou could summon it hence?"

"Yes.. I think I can" Hunter nods.

And the troll makes a motion "One for the money, two for the show, three to get ready now go cat go.."

And the horse shoe flips into the air towards Zara!

She reaches to catch it!

And nimbly, she does.
