Children come out, wearing cult memoriabilia, with tiny but sharp sickles, "Feed the corn!" They call out chanting as one leaps out. As they get closer, they take on a more demonic appearance

Alexis takes a quick head-count before she starts taking heads.

Alex pegs two with the rocks she's got in her hands, stoops like a hawk to grab more and fire as fast as she can; the last two available rocks stay in her fists to stone-reenforce them if & as she comes to blows....

One kid's head explodes, and out of it, shadows swarm forth slicing and hacking at her whispering "Blood makes the corn grow, kill kill kill!"

"Fuck." She grabs her rocks and runs.

"CORRRRNNN..." THey chant children and shodows both...

Redcaps are known for their stamina; she might need it. THIS redcap is focused on outrunning either the creatures, or their territory.

Actually, the terrain does shift...she's almost out of the corn. When one kid throws a lash of corn that snags her arm and starts to pull her back.

She snarls and YANKS.

The kid comes flying towards her, knife in hre free hand she clearly intends to stab Alexis as she flies by.

She tries firing one of her rocks at her before she can close the distance, knowing it's a long shot and readying the last rock to fight.

the long shot doesn't pay off. the kid lands on her and raises the knife... the last rock slams into her, and releases a shadow.. this is bonkers!

Actually, she hasn't tried.. mmm

She hawks a loogie onto her hand and smears it across her forehead as an Oakenshield bunk before the shadow reaches her...

The shadow tears at the new leafy protection, probably saved her from a rending of flesh. But the others are coming...

She twists to disengage from the corn holding her, and jerks away, running.

And she leaps to a road and there's a wailing of children acting as if Christmas had been cancelled "Selfish! Selfish! She barely gave any blood!"

As much as she'd like to turn and taunt, discretion.... she slows somewhat, but jogs onward a while.

"Great fuckin' ancient pop ballads...." She's regained some breath, and checks herself for injuries.

Nasty cut there and there but nothing too deep.

She nods with a sense of approval, and presses on.

She shrugs. "I get home, I hook you up. You get your pick of what we score here."

"You'll get me out of Oz? " Cautious, he looks at her slippers, then "Those don't always work right."

"No shit." Sourly. "You know the sparkly-smoke bitch?"

"I wouldn't piss on her if she were on fire" he snorts

"Well, maybe we can make that happen, but for now, she says I run some errands, she'll send me home."

"She might, but watch her....she's sell out her own mother to becme the Fairy Godfather around here."

"Okay, you've got a guide. IF you promise me you'll try to take me with you when you get out of here"

"Don't care, 'long as I get home." She nods agreement. "Yeah, sure. Deal."

"Deal? Don't folks swear solemn oaths with the power of the dreaming anymore?"

"This one don't." She spits on the cobbles. "Ain't found anyone yet who ain't kin worth it. You in or out?"

"FIne..I'll take a chance. If you end up stringing me along I hope those shoes eat you"

"Yeah, shit in one hand and wish in the other; see which gets full first." She crosses her arms, dried blood on her skin cracking. "What now?"

"We avoid the damn corn fields. Which you probably already know. Which way were you hoping to go? got a specific location?"
