Among the refuse, Briar notices something, scrawled on the back of a pizza box in marker, there's a message: "Help, been kidnapped... name is Trey. Rescue? No cops!" Which is a very odd message to leave if you want to be rescued.

There is an address on the box, for the guy who made the delivery no doubt. The marker addendum must have come later.

Briar sniffs the box. How old is it? Is there any cheese left stuck to the cardboard? What king of pizza WAS it?

LARGE box, Pepperoni and Sausage by the smell, some cheese bits left yes And not that old, two days tops, maybe less than that!

She tears off the address and message and shoves it into her picket, and absently peels off some cheese and chews it thoughtfully.

Chewing it confirms the age! Roughly 33 hours old. Redcaps are something called 'Kon- A Sewers' ... which means they get pretty good at flavor variations. That's a bit less than 2 days.

Does she know where this address is? Or maybe she'll have to ask a cornboy.

She actually knows, her time is not always at the DeBuke farmhold proper out here, but often at a pig butcher's place not far away. Because of this, she's actually got a good grasp of side roads and streets ,not that this podunk no where area has a LOT of streets, but that just meant there were fewer to memorize. The place is about six miles from here.

A groan at the distance, and she looks around to see if there is a bike she can ste- er, borrow.

She knows where there is a tractor, a pickup truck and... oh yeah, there's a bike about a quarter mile back, still better than walking six miles forward.

A TRACTOR!

Hmm. Do I know how to drive a tractor?

Eh, the cornboys would notice.

Bike it is!

Glass, of course, considers 6 miles a short jog
