Lumenesa has been uncharacteristically quiet but nods "What your ..what your dad says."

Amity's wings are rumpled and out-of-sorts, and she's crossed her arms over her chest.

Her father rustles her hair, her feathered head, "LOve you both, and I promise that your mother and I will find much to love about wherever we go. Okay?"

Lumenesa rallies a bit and shows more of her usual cockyness, "Darn straight. I got an idea for a tree house that will knock your sister's socks off, and an idea for a play ground in the back hard built for hooves."

"Really?" Egon perks.

"Here's fine." Mumbled.

Her dad gives her a tender look, full of sympathy "I think it would be nice to go to a place where we could reach things off the shelves."

"Could just climb a troll like a stepladder?"

"Tried it, they whinge," Her mom answers "If a troll in overalls isn't meant to act as a vertical bridge, I'm not sure what they're for mind you."

Her father snerks a moment, then says "Now dear."

"I'm a cat. I could hop up and bat things down?"

"You're a birb" her brother corrects her but smiles, "Bet you would like a tree house huh? And Les wouldn't be allowed to gnaw at the roots."

"We're Czech, not norse," Karel mutters at the talk of root gnawing.

"No boys allowed?"

"What, you want me to put electric vines as well for a bit of privacy?" her mother says "mmm be a drain, and making sure it only zorked those with X-Why Chromosomes would be could require some fancy work on the sensornators... but yeah... we could make it no boys allowed if you want."

A laughing little trill!

"Not nice," Egon huffs.

But then he says "But I don't like climbing trees anyway so okay"

"Just let me know when to lift up a bucket to you on some sort of lever or elevator or what not," Her father grins, "See , your mom is full of great ideas. And in case it matters, right now we're looking for places that have some areas you can run, but are also near bigger cities with tall buildings. We could get as crazy as living outside of Cincinnati."

"Ugh, but their Sports team..." Lumenesa says "Fine we'll CONSIDER Cincinnati."

"New York?"

"It's a hell of a town, y'know. The Bronx is up and the Battery's down."

"Well, at least the Giants and Jets give you some options," Her mom yields to that, "Kid, you know how TALL the buildings in New York City get? A third of the darn city is over the tree line."

"Cliffs!" She spreads her arms. "For my future career as a BASE Jumper!"

"All your base are belong to us" Her dad says in a weird robot voice. Dads are strange.

Lumenesa looks heaven ward as if for strength "And I'll make a man cave for your father in t he dungeon I mean... basement."

"Point is," She continues "New York City is... yeah, Urban Cliffs like you never seen . That and Chicago. " A thought hits her head "Huh, that lady you came back with, Les said she was from Jersey right?"

"Maybe!"

"Where the Devil is, in the trees."

"Normally the devil is in the details," Her father opines./ It is to her credit that his wife does not smack him upside the back of the head, and instead says "Interesting... that's not too far away as the pigeon flies."

"Hey," Egon says "SIS turns into a pigeon!"

"You don't say," Mom says with a dead pan face.

"I'm a robin redbreast, silly."

"I was one of those, forgot the sunscreen," Lumenesa mutters, then speaks up "OKay, you hooligans. LEt's get this hay off us, and scoot. Go play or clean up or whatever you kids do. Your daddy and I need to plan some things."

"Race you to the pole barn!"

"123 now!" the centaur takes off that way!

Mrs. and Mr. Novak watch as their two younger children interact. AMused and hoping the younger one doesn't crash into the barn. Oh well, he'll heal.

And with promises of a better future given... hearts are at the very least... whelmed.
