"I know that if I told Clem about this, she'd tear this farm apart to make things right, but she can't, not with her" Earl says

"Whoops, he TRIPPED?" Earl says

"You know what I mean," The Mountain scowls, "I'm not going to pretend that a mix of failed cantrip and the murder of his boy excuses it, but that is not all he did. He saved lives, he prevented others from... damn it. He's your great grandfather"

"Biologically speaking, we both know that's not quite the whole story," Earl says "But yes, in everyway that counted, and he was a good man but this? THIS blemish can't be scrubbed out. He's dead. He can't make amends. You can"

"Why the hell do you think I gave her naming?" Emmit tries to keep his voice from rising

"You always told me no teacher ever 'gave' a student knowledge, they had to work for it" Earl said.

"Don't throw my own sayings back at me out of context, BOY" Emmit's eyes darken.

"Well if you didn't want us to listen maybe they shouldn't apply to so manythings," Earl says "She got what she wanted, not what she needed, and neither did you! It's stil leating you up. You need to talk to her. You need to let her know..."

"She's NOT going to believe me" The Mountain says

"Not if you decide to hide behind a lie."

"I have to protect Harvald's honor" A scowl

"Look, things are complex, but it sounds like he didn't protect his OWN honor, that's his job, not yours and he fell down on it" Earl says"Great that he got back up again, but he crushed someone on the stumble and now you're leaving that injury . It's wrong"

"Complex?"The Mountain snaps, " To this day no one knows if he...took her because he was outraged, or if because her cantrip to influence his mind went horribly wrong.. even he wasn't sure... I came in to see... when I pulled him off he seemed out of his mind with confusion and whatever spell she had tried..."

"wait, surely YOU knew?" Earl says

"I had expended a lot of glamour to mess with that hold. And there were things I didn't know then that... " Emmit says "WHat could I tell her that owuld make her POSSIBLY feel better?"

Somewhere, Zara FUSSES.

"How about, this is what I know, and I wish to anything it hadn't happenedk, and that I'd been there sooner. How about you give her the TOOLS to feel better, because right now you've got a lady who is powerful and angry"

"I took an oath" He says

"Then release yourself from it" Earl snaps back

"You said there were things iwth me you wish you'd done differently, that you feel guilt over to this day... you feel indebted? Fine. I'm calling it.. go talk to Wildheart, tell her the truth. You think you owe me? Great. There...clear that off the tab" Earl pokes a finger at his uncle.

Emmit looks down at the finger jab, "You know I could do things to you with cantrips Loki doesn't know howw to do, right?"

Earl nods, "yeah. I do. But Might Doesn't make right, or Code of Dagda is nothing"

"You're twisting a guilt trip AND the Code on me?" Emmit says

"You want an outside opinion? Let's ask Mountain Frank. Maybe you don't respect me, but you respect the hell out of him" Earl says

"Frank's a good man despite him being a knight, but his family is small, his clan doesn't.. he doesn't understand, wouldn't" Emmit argues

"The fact that you're worried about what a good man, who has dealt with the stigma of being OATHBROKEN for over a decade that I know of, would understand- well, that kind of says it all?" Earl looks at him, "Doesn't it?"

"Time heals all wounds" Emmit says

FUSS.

"Really? Because she's a grown ass woman and it's not mending" earl says

Emmit waves it off

Earl casts a frustrated look to a shadow

"Look, how about if you see her, you agree to talk to her," Earl asks, "If you two happen to be nearby, you do that much , who knows ? Maybe she'll drop by the farm, or you'll find yourself at that lodge??"

"RIght sure... that's going to happen.." Emmit says "This is sarcasm, in case you youngers think you invented it"

"But if it DOES happen, promise me you'll talk to her? Maybe the truth will come out?" Earl says

FUSS.

"Fine fine..." Emmit says

Earl nods, then slaps his hands together yelling "HADOUKEN! " and shoves his Great Uncle!

Who tries to counter but not in time as he's caught off guard "You miserable little shi-" and he fades in a flickerflash

Earl looks drained and collapses to the ground "Oh I am a dead man"

Zara breaks the veil - "Did you send him to her?"

"To Rome yes, the lodge."

"Feh. He can try. Thou art mine."

"God you're sexy when you say that," Earl , now sitting, can look up to her, just a bit

"Do you have any idea how hard it is to flicker flash a sorcerer through his own wards even when he's off guard?"

"I feel like I just gave birth to a 1975 Ford Pickup" He explains

"well then... mayhaps the grotto?"

"Good idea" He gets up slowly "I'm not sure I convinced him of a darn thing"
