He shakes it, it appears to be empty.

"Oh, a clever place..." Dark eyes watch the journal, curiosity barely corralled.

Rather than hit the ground, it hovers.

"Okay. That's it. Has all the notes of the journey within, the findings too. But you know how the mists are... it's going to look like the ravings of a drunken madman. And, we all know, I'm never mad."
