"Well, you don't know if he didn't come out Dougal..."

"Even if he did, we don't know him, and you can't just wander into a strange noble hold."

"They have ways, protocals and dictums and strange powers..." He says "Some sidhe lord could have you out of your nickers with a pout... you seen a few from a distance, but up close? "

"Not up close, no...."

"I caught a glimpse of one up close... could bare near not think. " Bix says "More than once, it's real hard to build up an immunity. Sides, Clem trusts us with this trip and we throw her this curve? is that fair to her? Is that honorable?"

"...no.." Sulk.

"Well, there we are.. now let's go get the shopping done while there's daylight" Bix says

"Yeah..." Sigh. Books to the car.

"How do we know the new guy is bad if we've never met him?"

"I... " he sighs "He's a sidhe noble, that's enough to know, all we need to know" And they drive to pick up supplies... is enough to take her mind off that leg? Tools, and supplies and gear? Pistons and parts and so on?

"Well, they wouldn't need to give him a nice leg, they could have given him a good enough one. But they furkin' delivered."

"What else can they do?"

"Bet it kicks the peasantry at random intervelss.. they'll just call it a glitch" He says

"Bix!"

"Isn't Brekke Big-Britches a Baroness?"

"She's a Chieftain" he says

"That makes up for it"

She harrumphs again, but does manage to get a little distracted by pistons and pipes.

When they find on the wall a flier for an old truck similar to the one they need to fix, they hit the jackpot

"Oh hey.... booty!"

"Oh yeah, that's not even far from the farm..."

"Can we afford it?"

"I think we can at least look into it."

"True!"

The man sellng the truck is happy to show it to them, "Thing hasn't run in years mind you, I just need it off my parking space ...but the frame is good."

She purses her lips, looking it over.

"Ain't even, look at this dreck - cracked right through."

"Barely worth it for parts."

"Can I talk to an adult? " The man says looking about, "Your parents around?"

"Aint' our parents that have access to the money," Bix says

And... she's under the hood, rapping at the carburetor with her knuckle.

"Sis is right..." Bix nods. "Cracked trhough... now we might be able to do something... but It'll be work"

"Hmph. Gonna have to haul this rusty brick outta here..." She lays down on the driveway beside the vehicle and squints up at the undercarriage.

"Okay okay.." the man lowers the price "But you have to take all of it or the wife will have my ass"

"Well, maybe for (lower number)..."

"Maybe..."

"Oh now, are you young mechanics or hoodlums? " He protests

"Hoodlums wouldn't be interested but if you think some are coming around..." Bix shrugs.

"Well. We could split the difference..." She reaches under, tapping at something.

"Fine fine..." the half way mark between what he said and she said is agreed on... and soon enough, they're transporting the vehicle with the hitch on the car

"You know, I might have enough extra bits for a side project..."

"Bet we do" Bix says "Maybe it'll be okay ha ving another mechanic in the family"

"Well, you're so busy these days..."

"Yeah, that's true. I am learning so much from Mountain Frank. Things I never knew..."

"Yeah? Like what?"

"Lots of history, not just kithain... plenty of lore on magics.. I mean, Mountain Emmit knows more arts, but Mountain Frank knows about some treasures and laws... customs that are..well, just different, but still trollish."

"Treasures? Hey, you think I'll get to poke at some of those?"

"Not before I do." He says "I'm his apprentice." Proud
