After all, they have a couple hours to burn.

"The DeBukes have made connections with old troll lodges in Europe and I am happy to utlize my family's resources there, and we have new world truffles as well ... some of our dogs are trained in hunting them though I confess that is more hit and miss," The Hearth says "A few of the sources are more secret than that."

Zane whispers "He means black market truffle smuggling across trods, with suspected theft from some mortal sources"

"AHEM, thank you, Bridge, they are QUALITY, that's what matters" The Hearth says offended in a grumpy sour troll way

The dining area is more like a mess hall over all, though the table they're at in the corner is a little less militant looking

Piper quickly grabs another bite before Marsellies can change his mind or get grumpy. "Did you invent the idea of putting it on these little crisps with the caviar and creme fraiche? It's fantastic. I didn't know I liked caviar. Now I'm mad... I don't have a caviar budget!"

Wistfully wiping up a last bit with her finger, careful not to miss a single tiny egg.

"Oh I wish I could say I had," He admits "I had a method for something similar, but there's this ... well, I suppose she IS a peer who works as at a noble hold. Her method was superior to mine... in this matter, so I adopted it. A boggan lady, quite pleasant,, but I will yet destroy her if we duel as chefs in Pennons this year"

"Dueling chefs, that's a fun thought." She grins. "Well, you have my vote."

"Thank you" Marsellies gives a troll version of a pleased smile "And it is more common than you think even when it isn't a holiday. The shows you may have enjoyed like Iron Chef or the same are based on much older contests, and many a kithain chef or cook has mused his mortal peers with dreams of competition. "

Zane arches a brow "Does that mean the Mithril Chef competition and title is real? Or is that just an urban legend?"

"Let me know if you want more dessert" The Hearth says as if he did not hear Zane
