"I.. hope I do not speak to freely there." He realizes he may have overstepped. They are alone, he thought it safe to flirt and express his delight with her

Linnea finishes her glass, and takes a bit of courage from it, and reaches for his hand. "I am no skilled dancer... certainly not when there are talents such as the Baroness Dancingsnow, and sweet Bluebell to contend with... but if you do not mind that I may stub your toes... there is no one I would rather have in my arms."

He moves to the gramophone, Dougal craft , and rising, offers a hand.

She takes his hand... "Did you make this?" Admiring the gramophone.

"I had help, Weapons are my specialty but I've a journeyman who is really good at this sort of thing," He starts it up "Good quality though"

"Is this one a nocker?" Amused, "Just in case I should stick to the far side of the room." She is joking, she doesn't move an inch from his side.

He laughs "Nay, a boggan lass. And, not that you ever need to worry, while she's a fine crafter, she's not as pretty as you"

"I needn't worry. If you were a fool enough to be turned by a pretty face, I'd hope to have been wise enough to figure that out by now." Linnea isn't a beauty - definitely compared to Nadeen's elegance, or Bluebell's cute features, or D'Lorean's charm... but when she smiles, as she is at Hewitt right now, there is a certain something about her.

"Your smile fills the room as wonderfully as music itself" He says honestly and starts to dance with her

The music is instrumental, clearly meant to be romantic, and frankly, it succeeds

Linnae is not used to feeling dainty, and perhaps she still doesn't, but Hewitt is taller than her, and he knows well enough how to dance to make her at least feel confident in her own moves. She can relax with him, just enjoy the proximity and the music

Too self-conscious to dance - that is, when she hasn't been on guard during festivities. Even in school, she was more likely to be taking on the roll of hall monitor rather than attend the dances then. But here... "This is nice." She says, resting her head on his shoulder. ON HIS SHOULDER! Because he's not 2 feet shorter than her!

"It is" He nods softly , his whisper lined gently with her ear, "I cannot beat the company"

"Would... am I too forward, to suggest that I would enjoy spending more time in your company? That is, as your duties allow..."

"only if the suggestion was returned is being too forward, for I would enjoy being with you more often as well"

And he kisses her , gently.

She returns the kiss! "I... I do not need to be back on patrol until late tomorrow." She says, her cheeks coloring with the brazen nature of her remark, and what it might suggest.

Realization enters his good eye, "I think, may haps, I have place for us to.. rest. It does get cold even this early in New York State and I would not want you chilled. If I might show you where I mean?" An offer

"I would welcome the chance to... rest, by your side."

"Then, with me, my love, and we shall provide each other...warm comfort" and he guides her to a place where they might do just that. And more

And so they shall!
