She nods. "You're right. So...I guess...yeah."

That line is back between her brows.

Then a deep breath. "Well...I'll figure it out. Send out feelers to other places."

"Well, we're about filled with DeBukes"

"Which might mean another one might feel right at home," she points out. "There sure are a lot of DeBukes, after all."

"True, but the Chief wants some variety. One reason he liked your opinion"

She nods slowly. "But...well...the DeBukes have more variety than they like to admit. Still, I'll look around."

"Mm point" A consideration then "I suppose a Noble Bridge would make you twitch"

She thinks about it. "Not...really? I mean...if the point of the Bridge is to make connections between different parts of the community, I guess there's room for a noble to do it. The main point is it's got to be somebody who can, y'know, relate. Connect. You had somebody in mind?"

"Not.. on a short list, but on a long one " He ponders

She tilts her head at him. "Want to share?"

"Not yet . I don't want to stick my neck out and face rejections"

A blink. "O-kayyy...but you'll tell me if you think the time is right?"

A brow then "wait, I have you curious now?" Amusement "Okay, I'm petty enough to milk this"

A little pout, and she lets go of one of his hands to give him a light punch in the shoulder. "No fair."

"It's not" He agrees, then smiles "And i'm ggood with that" A kiss on her cheek "When are you going to start the change over? And.. want a big date dinnner tonight? "

"A big date dinner sounds great," she says with some relief. "And I guess...I'll have to start the process as soon as I find somebody who might be a good fit."

"Good. Because I made reservations... semi formal... one of us has to wear a dress and ihope it's yoU"

She blinks. "You made reservations...and I came home and..." She trails off, then nods. "I know exactly which dress." The way she says it is a bit of a promise.

"You couldn't know that I had and..." then she mentions just which dress and he goes "Okay. Spirits rising"

That gets a smile, and she reaches up to give him a soft, slow kiss.

the kiss retturned

Then she parts and murmurs, "I'm going to go get changed." She turns and leaves his room, looking back to give him another smile before closing the door.

"Wow" he watches her go, then sighs a bit sadly, then looks at his weapon "Chauncey, I am ahving a conflicted evening" A pause "yeah, I'm going to enjoy what I can. you're right"
