"The cafe sounds delightful, Dearest."

"Good, now tell me if you want to go elsewhere or make it so we don't visit as often? I don't want you KIDNAPPED by me" She smiles

"The cafe is perfectly sutied, Dearest!" he assures her "As tempting as being kidnapped by you may sound." with a roguish twinkle.

"Good." She kisses him "Thank you for letting me bully you just a little bit, and for the help. Which we will NEVER mention to the OTHER grandmother"

Soon, the three nurses, the seven kids, and CC and EBG are heading out. CC is SO good, not hovering and defeating the purpose of the break entirely. "You have fun, grandma will be nearby." She then tells the nurses "Call me if there's ANY trouble" with a smile that is both dazzling and promises certain demise if they ignore this command

And yet, her William lingers in the presence of the children, and that give her a reason to be near them as well.

She is.. pleased, and surprised and whispers in his ear "Okay... you're spoiling me but I ..honey, do you actually LIKE the kids?"

Some of them show a stubborn streak against orders that might endear him yet 😉

"Mmm... a complicated question, Dearest. Perhaps for another time?"

"That's reasonable" She concedes, "But however you feel, I appreciate how kind you are to them" A brow lift "Though I suspect at least one has you as a peppermint smuggler"
