"So you want me to stop all research into rare or locked magic?" He says frustrated

"I want you to LOOK Like you have for your and your family's sake. Hit the matresses for a bit" CC says

"Hit the mattresses?" He blinks

"Old Mafia phrase , you threw matresses on the floor because windows would get you spotted and shot" CC hurumphs

"You knew Mafia members?" He says

"I sing Jazz " As if that explains it

"Right" Zane says, then looks at Emerson

"Leave the gun, take the cannoli."

"I've no idea what language you two are speaking now" Zane admits

"IT's a godfather reference" CC says

"Is that some kind of spin off of the Sopranos? My mom liked that show" he says

"I'm gonna stab him with a fork" CC mutters

"Do not speak to us of the old magic, wizard." he growls "We know a deeper magic."

At that Zane smiles a bit and bobs his head "Mia Culpa or Frank Copola, which ever. I think I get the general idea, at least pretend I was scared straight , put on a show, and lay low for a month before I even THINK of resuming?"

"If that's the best I can get out of this meeting, sure" CC says

Stodgepole drinks again, instead of speaking.

Zane nods "Okay. I'll do that. And I'm sorry if I seemed ingrateful for you looking after me. "

Stodgepole tops up the drinks.

"Mmm forgiven, barely" CC nods a thanks to her love kraken as he tops off the drinks

A nod back.

"So.. besides dealing with snoot nosed wizards, how are you guys doing?" Zane asks

A sly look to the side at Miss CC, and he looks away.

CC smirks "We're just stubling along"

"Indeed."

"Please, I saw you perform, you're amazing and the crowd looks pretty full"

"You should try the food, you're missing half the expereince" CC says "And I need to get back to work"

"If you will allow me to bring you a plate? Or two? And... drinks?"

"Who me or her?" Zane asks

"I can't eat while singing" CC says "he means you"

"Oh, yes, please?" He says

"Mmm...." he stands, nods, and goes to fix a few delicacies and a pitcher of something nice.

CC is soon singing again... a Blues version of All Star

Emerson can use his boggan skills on Zane. He suspects he greatly admires CC on many levels
