"I have the Fell's attention, don't I?" He asks

"You realize that is not a -good- thing, don't you?"

"Dark gate is a bastion against the fell, that's how it got it's name" He points out

"You are not just meddling with the Fell" CC says "You are trying to uncover forms of magic that others have a monopoly on, and they do not intend to share"

"Indeed not."

"Like Sidhe trying to hoard Chronos" Zane says

"Among other Arts."

"But the sidhe have lost their grip on those, they're a lot more then me learning arts kept from us" He says sounding dubious

"And it's not just the sidhe you have to worry about" CC warns him

Zane nods "Yeah, there's... secret organizations. " he says "But I'm not after them. i'm just trying to learn the arts, or at least OF them."

Stodgepole takes a sip his his drink, and shakes his head.

"You're killing me, Zane" CC sighs "Killing me."

"I'm sorry, but magic IS my passion" he says

"Then ride your passions but don't let them own you" CC says "Because the people you're iring , they WILL go after your family"

He stiffens then says "My father is a master of chicanery, and they live near the lodge. Anyone who goes up against the Lodge ends up losing"

CC says "And you're willing to let the trolls of the lodge risk danger eh? And I thought you liked them"

Stodgepole takes a longer drink of his martini.

CC pats his thigh supportively under the table

Zane flares a bit "I have faith in them, and I do like them."

But he also looks more worried

"This Lodge has a strong history in the Arts, then?

"More primal than you can shake a stick at just to start" Zane says "But it's true others may know more about more. "

"Well. Primal. That should do it, then." skeptically.

"I'm not going to rattle off their most secretive arts here in a club" he ssays low and soft "Give me some credit"

CC says "If you think it's just a lecture you're not the intelligent fellow I thought you were"

"I'm aware of some stuff that's straight up Felltown, but even those you need to know OF even if you don't use it" zane argues
