"That too" A grin "Which first?"

"Food first. I wouldn't want you fainting away." with a smirk.

"Might be dull for you if I did" She laughs and takes his hand to lead on

Days later, Zane Wayburton enterrs the club. The college age kid gets carded at the bar , smiles, and flashes a bit of glamour. Of COURSE he's 21! Fuddle says so

Stodgepole watches narrowly from the Matre'd stand.

And he gets a drink, then sees Stodgepole and looks less cocky, and more respectful . A polite nod

A slow nod back.

CC is performing, the crowds missed her and she missed them

Zane waits and nurses his drink.

Admittedly, Stodgepole's attention is drawn more by Callidora than Zane.

As it should be. Callidora draws every man's eye, and the eye of some women no doubt, as she sings and saunters...

"Everyday things change
And the world puts on a new face
Certain things rearrange
And this whole world seems like a new place" She flirts with one man, then moves to the other

"Oh yeah, secretly I've been trailin' you
Like a fox that prays on the rabbit
I had to get you and so I knew
I had to learn your ways and your habits" She borrows a hat. It looks better on her anyway.

"Ooooh, you were the catch that I was after
But I looked up, and I was in your arms" She has slinked over to another
"And I knew I had been captured"

What's this whole world comin' to" She laments, and throws the hat to the table with the other man, sauntering yet to another
"Things just ain't the same
Anytime the hunter...
Gets captured by the game" She shoots Emerson a very wicked look

"Oh yeah!


Oh yeah, I had laid such a tender trap" Gliding through the crowd
"Hoping you might fall into it
But love hit me like a sudden slap" A graceful tilt of her head
"One kiss, and then I knew it"

She approaches the young man at the bar "Ooooh, my plan didn't work out like I thought
I had laid my trap for you
But it seems that I got caught" Zane blushes... despite the song, he is still too young to know what bad things she can do to.. or for him.

"What's this whole world comin' to
Things just ain't the same
Anytime the hunter...
Gets captured by the game" She takes his glass, and drinks from it, then sets it down wiggling off

"Oh yeah, Oh yeah!"

Her William leads the applause.

Zane applauds as well then realizes somehow she drank almost HALF his drink while looking it was just sipped

Stodgepole chuckles at that.

Finally she gets her break, and so does Emerson... a brief one

She joins Emerson and says "Looks like Zane got my invite. You want in on this conversation"

"If only to keep you from mischief." dryly.

A throaty chuckle "I suppose a chaperone IS called for" She takes Emerson to a small private table, and motions Zane to join them.

Which he does

He has a quick word with a server and three tall glasses of cold water, along with a pitcher of martinis, are brought.

Zane joins them "Wow, CC, that was amazing"

"THank you, " CC says

Stodgepole pours them all a glass of vodka-and.

"Thanks, Sir" Zane says "Great club"

"I'm pleased to hear you say it." mildly "We've worked very hard to make it so."

"Well, it works" He says "Ah, thank you for the invite?"

"You're welcome, Zane" CC says

Willam gives Callidora a subtle nod.

CC goes on "Zane, while I was there, I ran into a very unpleasant fellow who seemed to have his eye on you"

"Oh, thanks for the head's up. I'm not surprised. Dark gate attracts some danger. As Bridge for the place I'm getting used to it"

"Complacency can kill, young man."

"I'm anything but complacent, Sir. " he says, voice low "I'm a wizard."

"Then be a wizard and remember it stands for 'wise'" CC gives a reproving look "You are being too confident, and this man is trying to warn you of that"

"Or take advantage of it." muttered.

Zane sobers "I didn't mean to sound ingrateful"

"What are your plans, then?"
