Emerson takes the news soberly.

"Wonderful" CC says "Is the father standing by her?"

"Oh yes, Jonas is a fine lad. And Siv, being Fiona, is quite happy to support. Trolls, I tell you, I do love the kith"

He cocks his head, considering.

"Well I'm glad of that" She nods hiding any concern in her tone.

"Mmmm." a wordless sound of agreement.

THe conversation goes on for a bit longer but after another fifteen minutes Cornellius says "Oh look at the time. I should go."

"So soon??"

"Afraid so... School starts soon officially and the college has work for me" He says

"Ah, yes, of course." he sighs and stands, collecting glasses.

And off he goes. Once he's gone, CC says "Well THAT was juicy"

"Was it?" amused as he washes and cleans up.

"Well, also worrisome, but you don't find it so?"

He chuckles "Rumors from a distant land where I'm not allowed to play? Entertaining perhaps."

"Oh.. now I feel bad. I didn't mean to dangle meat in front of you. I AM a bit worried about Zane. He's a cutie, but he's going to end up in trouble if he pokes around for Shadowcourt magics"

"I'm afraid I don't know the lad but I certainly trust your word on it."

"I would think the Rivervale people would smell it on him quickly enough."

"With the right studies, even a Gwydion maybe fooled." She says "I'm more worried about some of my old cronies dispatching him for trying"

"Why on earth would they bother with a wet-behind-the-ears kid in a Gwydion stronghold?"

"Actually he's in a Dougal stronhold now... that Darkgate lodge?"

"Which to be fair, is NOT off limits to you..."

A sigh. "Do you want me to go check up on the lad?"

"No. I think I'll handle it. Just letting you know I may pop off. If I get caught you'll have to mount a rescue"

"A Dougal stronghold, Mmm? I don't think I'm familiar with it."

"Well, it's not very Dougal.. a troll lodge first. See it was..oh dear. Brekke's going to come into this story"

He pours them each a bourbon to prepare. "Tell me."

And she relates the tale, of how the place was a foul leak for night mare energies... and how that got stopped by some changelings... including some rivervale related ones and how Brekke arranged for it to be a troll lodge. "There's a statue, an actual statue, of this skinny sluagh wilder who helped"

"Quite the tale of derring-do."

"Well, if I must come to your rescue, it's not the first troll Lodge I've infiltrated."

OOC 🚗 Be about an hour or 1.5 depending on dinner.

"It's comforting really" She says "Anyway, the place serves a purpose"

"Mm... I will give you that." albeit a little grudgingly.

"The Fell is nasty"

"I suppose it is good they are there, then. Are you certain you will go?"

"I'll keep an eye on things, and that may require going up in the area" She admits

"Hmmph. I suppose."

"Oh now.. you gave the sigh that you might be asked to go up and'help the lad' I thought you'd be happy to know you didn't"

"I'm hardly happier that -you- are going." he grumbles.

A chuckle "What if I promise to call regularly?"

"Not the same." he grumblepouts, but he's not -fighting- her on it either.

She snuggles with him, finding that nook in his arms that's CC shaped

"I would miss you too if you vanished for a week even if I knew where it was" She admits

"Hmmph." But he hugs and snuggles her back.

"And thank you for putting up with Cornelius. I know he can get on your nerves"

A sigh. "He probably had such potential in his youth."

"Nothing worse than seeing a former firebrand turned into a tea kettle for the use of the upper crust eh?"

He shudders.

"You're the one who told me to hook up with other satyrs"

"And I stand by that but... what about that nice Trago, the semi-local one?"

"Oh I do now and then but after covid they met less often"
