"Oh I don't want to be a bother" Emmit assures

"Tut tut, Emmit. No bother at all! It's what I do. Allow me?" he gives Callidora a smirk "Miss CC here will entertain you while I'm in the kitchen."

"Oh you're too kind" He says "And always a delight to talk to CC"

"Yes, that's what I'm desired for," CC smiles "Conversational skills"

Emmit shakes his head "You two both know a lot more about more things than you'll ever let on"

Emerson chuckles and bustles out of the Freehold to the Club's kitchen where he makes himself busy.

The kitchen is a dream, largely HIS dream, for he custom designed and laid it out

And he's very much at home in it.

Soon he is fixing up 'vittles' to use a DeBukeism

Something solid, stick-to-your-ribs; after all, Emmit serves as a Firebrand tonight, and may have other journeys to make. In fact, Emerson packs the food up in a clean bus tray to take back, entering through the mirror carefully.

He hears a joke on going "... and still launched up like a rocket in Houston"

CC laughs in response

"Here we are, if I'm not interupting?" he bustles back in and sets the tray down with full portions for all.

"Emmit was mentioning a still incident involving Mara DeBuke"

"Still incident?"

"Moonshine still.." Emmit smiles "A nocker got curious about the wiring"

"Oh my."

"Oh Mara knows her stuff, but mostly with vehicles. Not stills"

"Did she try to mount it on wheels?"

"Complete with struts "

Emerson sighs.

CC smiles "They keep things lively. Though I try not to let them pry with my sound system"

"Absolutely not."

"Oh you'd be find without a sound system, CC, with your voice"

"Flattering for you to say," CC nods "But even I need a mic now and then"

"Miss CC... the -mic- needs -you-." he insists.

"Hear hear" Emmit insists

CC lowers her lashes, clearly pleased "Flattery ... my one... thirteenth weakness"

Emerson takes her hand and kisses the back of it.

She preens

Emmit wisely..eats

Emerson doesn't seem especially hungry, but he sips his whiskey.

"Plans for Imbolc at the farm?" CC says "I mean, there must be..."

"Oh yes, Big to do" Emmit assures

"Well deserved."

"You're all invited, though I imagine you might be celebrating it here"

Emerson lifts an eyebrow and regards Miss CC.

"The kithain and kinain in our staff are here for the holiday and I won't let them down" CC says 'tempting as your offer is"

"She's right." Emerson echoes with regret.

"Our loss," He says "Besides, even now Maude is calling April and Caesar to make sure they come to the farm and not here"

amusement in his eyes

"That.... oooo" CC stews "Emmit, you tell me NOW?"

"I have to be even about these things, CC. Maude deserves her shot now and then" Emmit says

Emerson pats her hand "There's always Beltaine."

"Darn straight we get them beltaine" Mmmph
