At their home, CC lounges with Emerson "So, got plans for the pooka to keep her busy?"

"Dearest, certainly not." he protests, looking up from his newspaper "You know I don't dabble any longer."

" thought we could have her burgle the crown jewels or something"

"Mm. Rumor is David's jewels are already missing." dryly.

"Oh no, the rod of office lost?" Dryly back

"So rumor has it."

"Well, that's hilarious. I think she needs SOMETHING to do and I'm nnot sure she wnats to do vaudville despite her talent for mimicy"

"Well she certainly can't impersonate -you-." he vouches "Honestly, Dearest, I will see if an old contact will meet with her but that's as much as I can do within the limits you've set for me. I'm -trying- to behave."

"mmm" A frown "Do I restrict you too much? I thought I had.. loosened some restrictions not so long ago?"

"Was that not a one-time pass?"

"Mm I wasn't clear on that was I?" She sits up right in the bed "Either way the ambigiouty was a bit unfair of me" Mmmph

A shrug. "I'm not bothered by it, Dearest."

"Well that's kind of you, but I did put you in an unfair situation"

"ALso I think Samhain is coming on me earlier and stronger. Tempted to tell you to let her rip"

"Ooo." she has his interest.

"You have been so damned good" SHe realizes "And while I whined about the vampire cramping my style, I know it stressed you out as well. I'll tell you what. Leave Bergen alone, but otherwise, go to town until Yule. Consider it an Early Yule gift."

"A gift for which I am grateful, Dearest, but it's not as easy as all that. Not and keep my head where it is, firmly attached. There's an amount of infrastructure, intell, and connections to possess to make a relatively safe go of it."

"You're saying I'm not giving you enough time?" She doesn't seem upset just curious

"I dismantled my system." he points out "It took years to build it and few if any of my previous contact will have to do with me in that way. That was the way it was set up, deliberately. If you are in, you are all in. If you are out....."

"Oh yes, right. It's been turned over." A nod "I am sorry then. I sometimes forget thyat you..." A light bump of her horned head against his shoulder "SOmetmes you're so brilliant I forget how you are smart enough to need help. Mmm how about we pick a smaller score and I help you?"

"I always enjoy working with you, but isn't this for our friend Corola?"

"Mm it's supposed to be. We could take her along"

"Admitedly I would look fantastic in a robin outfit."

"And out of it." he agrees.

"I sense more costume shopping in our future" Wryly "Fine, we'll get something she can do and play back up. Now, who needs robbed?"

"Mmm." he consider "Challenging but not -too- challenging. I am not certain of her skill level, hm?"

"Well if she ends up in trouble we get to rescue her and regulate her to sidekick. A win win"

"Until she chafes and strikes out on her own, but that's a problem for another day."

"It's the way of the young. All eventually take the same pose as the wilders a generation of ahead of them shaking their fist screaming 'I'm an individual, just like all my friends'

"Not really, no." dryly "Perhaps I will be fortunate and expire before then."

"Drat." he says comfortably.

That gets him a kiss on the earlobe "I'm gonna shower, then make breakfast"

"Sounds delightful. I shall ponder potentials."

A peck on the lips and soon he hears her showring. SHe'll be cooking soon after

Meanwhile, he ponders. After a bit he gets up and takes a small black notebook out of his dresser and flips through it.

Feels like it's been too long since he looked at it, but his organizing skills are amazing

Of course, it's difficult to keep up to speed if one is not active in the network but... perhaps there are one or two contacts he could provide. She can make of that what she will.

And as for a deserving target to play with....

The shower has stopped, a half nude CC has slipped into the kitchen to don an apron and start breakfast.

The smell of bacon or bacon related dishes drifts in

Still thinking, he puts on his dressing gown and wanders down to the kitchen.

And a blueberry pancakes with bacon meal awaits. "Thought I'd go with time honored" She's working on eggs

"Oh, this looks delicous." he goes about getting them both a coffee.

"Thank you, poached, sunny side up, or scrambled ?" She says
