And yet also spoiling him rotten

It takes William a bit to relax enough not to want her under protection, to carry a weapon, -something-.... but he tries, he really does.

She agrees to carry a gun, getting a permit even. "Not a fan of these things but if it helps you I DO know how to shoot"

"I dislike guns entirely, but I will admit to their usefulness."

"They make holes in people when required" A nod "Sometimes when not. My problem is the sound level. A person can hurt their hearing"

"Then let's do all we can to ensure you needn't fire it often, or at all."

A brow "Honey, I don't want a constant bodyguard . I'm free."

He grumbles.

"Look, if you want to keep on one or more of the security detail that's fine but I may shoot one of them if I don't get space now and then"

"And I -am- sympathetic to that, Dearest. I truly am. I'm not -demanding- you take security.... just saying I wish you would."

She settles a bit at that "Well, you can't help how you feel about it anymore than I. I'll consider it but currently the answer is not likely"

A doleful sigh, but he only nods.

"Now, come on" A coax "I've tried to celebrate this with you. Heck, the DeBukes were nice enough to send you that small case of Corn Smut" A grin at the name

He chuckles. "I am thrilled beyond words at our success. Now, here's hoping there aren't -more- of them out there seeking you, and we'll be in the clear."

"Children of Lilith are a coniving back stabbing lot. I'm willing to bet his properties and assets are being seized by his so called peers more than any concern" She ponders "Makes me wonder if we shouldn't see what businesses around here he's invested in"

An eyebrow. "An excellent idea. I can see to it tomorrow."

A pleased look, "Good. After all," She smiles "Why merely survive and remove a threat when we can gain?" Oh she's feeling a wee bit unseelie

"Mmm... also, if others of his ilk are going to move into the neighborhood, I would like advanced warning."

"A fair point" her brow creases in semi concern "Better safe than sorry. Though there are locals in this town I'm sure"

"Let's keep a wide divide between us and them, thank you."

"Amen" She nods "Garlic in the entree did not seem to work.. but the sunlight did" A smile

"Thanks to you and our odd family of friends, yes."

"Now, " she straightens his collar, "please tell me you feel a LITTLE safer, or else that whoel thing seemed for naught"

"Yes, I suppose so. You could carry that flashlight around; it wouldn't attract attention the way a gun would."

"But it's your treasure dear, you dreamed it up" she says

"Not so much a treasure as the answer to a fevered prayer. I wanted it for -you- Dearest; you can take it."

"Well, it is quieter and less noticable than the gun" She relents and looks over him "I can't believe of all the things you could have dreamed for, you dreamed that to protect me"

"Or prayed if yo8u prefer" She strokes his cheek "It's so very sweet"

Another little grumble.

She kisses his neck gently, then, playfully, nips

"Yes yes yes...." more grumbling.

A giggle snerk in his ear "Sorry, couldn't help it"

"It is good to hear you laugh."

"It's good to laugh" A nod "Now, back to a subject, that cornsmut. Would you believe I have never had a recipe with it?"

"That's a subtle hint for you to cook for me"

"I admit I'm not that familiar with it either. I've -heard- of it, but not used it."

"Let's go to the kitchen together? I'll need to find out how to use it...."

She glows with delight "I like that idea. Isn't it nice we can still learn some new techniques?"

He smirks "I'm stunned to think you still have some hidden away, Dearest."

"Ooo ooooo clever comment" A kiss this time on the lips "Just for that you get to pick which apron I wear"

"The one with the lace." he responds promptly.

She dimples "I like the way you look at me when I wear that one" And she sashayes to go get it, of course, he's supposed to follow

And of course, he does.

He goes to find likely cookbooks, but enjoys the view while he does so.

It's a new challenge for them both ,but fun
