"This really is becoming intolerable." he snarls "How long does it take to get more information?"

"As long as it takes" She says "May Maude is doing her part in Europe and we're lucky to have her"

A sulky sigh. "Yes. I know. She must be extermely careful, I know, I know...."

"She's kinain, resourceful, and well trained but yes, if she gets cocky she will get caught and who knows what then" She takes his hand

He relaxes against her. It's rare; he's a bundle of outrage and indignation powered by hate. His capitulation to her, sudden and confounding those years ago, was out of character but he has never regretted it, even as it baffled him. Sometimes, now, he allows himself to take comfort, to take ease, in her presence.

And she treasures it as the gift it is. She adores him, even the dark parts of him, but does not want him to suffer under the weight of it.
