Speaking of chaos.....

The elder boggan gent listens to the Thomas's trials with a sympathetic ear. He's not entirely unfamiliar, of course; Callidora did brief him. Still, he encourages them to vent.

And they do. Brenda is angry. It seems while she admits her mistake, every step of her life , her families life, has been controlled by nobles, only to have those nobles fail

Time and time again, yes. No matter the Kith, a title seems to point to disappointment and failure.

"Of course, I'm a satyress so I suppose folks expect me to roll with it and let it go" She growls

"Satyrs are often discounted, yes. Fickle things." clearly, he does not agree.

CC smilees at that , "my man knows the facts"

Brenda sighs "Kyle thinks we should just keep our heads down and avoid noble holds"

"There is power within you, Beverly." he is confident.

He glances at Kyle.

Kyle says "I do. It just seems to be wehave to accept what we have and the less the nobles know about what we do, the happier we'll be. Bondraste aside"

"Mm. How is that working, Kyle?"

"Well, it does feel hemmed in"

"Kyle, what are your concerns? That is, you're a brave and bold man, a warrior in his own right. But you suggest you and yours should keep your heads down, and avoid conflict. Why?"

"Because it's smart, and I am not as close to being a warrior as some. Look, whenn we went unseelie, I nearly pimped my wife out in some idea how to play things into morttal advances allowing me to work some angles behind the lodge's back. They found out about it quick."

"The Lodge... Rivervale?" A smirk.

"Yes, that's where we were sained... but Adam, he never quite fit in it turns out. He was..troubled" Kyle says

"Very," Brenda admits "I failed him"

A glance at CC.

"Somehow it sounds to me your biggest failing, IF failingg was, was letting the nobles take over your son but how were yo u to know?"

CC pats Brenda's arm

EBG shakes his head sadly "Moreso, I think. There was no way, at the critical moments, they could possibly have known to do anything. Right of Ignorance."

The couple exchange sad looks

"Your son was at their mercy, such mercy as it was. You are not to blame." gently, absolving.

"I'm afraid he got crushed by the system, it happens" CC agrees "Would that it did not"

Brenda glares "The system SUCKS."

Boggan glances (up) at troll to see how he takes this.

"I'm sorry, Brenda. That's why I suggest we avoid it politely"

"Can I get either of you more refreshment?" a polite offer

"No we..we should go," Brenda says "But thank you, it's been nice having a sounding board"

"It is late... are you sure you won't stay? We have room."

"You'd be welcome" CC says "it's always nice to have another couple around"

"No, lily might need us" Brenda smiles "But thank you. Another time maybe?"

"Yes, we'd love to visit again" Kyle says

"I would very much like to meet the little lady, if she is willing." Emerson stands.

"Maybe we'll bring her next time" They rise and shake hands

Emerson shakes Kyle's hand and kisses Brenda's cheek.

And they withdraw

"Well," CC says once those two are gone "My heart ggoes out to them even if their son was a sidhe"

He goes to the cart and pours two brown drinks, healthy slugs in heavy-bottomed glasses.

He brings her one.

And samples his own.

"Agreed."

"Thanks, lover" And she samples hers "Oh nice. "

"Mm."

Ok, the brown might be more amber, more scotch than bourbon.

"He was not an elf to start with." he points out.

"True. Odd situation all around," She nods "I confess, Brenda is... I feel for her. Mother's rage is a hurting thing "

"Mm." another sip "Dearest, this cuts close to both of us, but while you are mother and a grandmother, I am no longer, as they say, in the biz. So I defer. What would you wish as an outcome?"
