"Oh good grief" CC says

"I cannot stomach it, Callidora!" He wads it up and feeds it to the 'Fire.

"I know I know, but don't you think it might be good to get the traditionalists out of town? Give them somewhere else to go?" Even as she says this though, she gets him a drink to soothe him

"More likely to con and inveigle the unsuspecting into the grip of nobles for their own exploitation." He huffs. But he takes the drink.

"Well you maybe right. We'll tear them down on our daily walks. Keeps us in shape" A thought "Still, I do like the idea of Balor going ballstic. Nasty little house that"

"They -all- are."

"I suppose I see degrees, but yes. " She does not argue with him overmuch, though she'd rather have some houses with their balls in a twist than others.

"Hmph." He steams and sips his drink. "On the wall of -your- club!"

"I know. I know, but I try to see that as a sign I have hidden my preferences successfully"

"Mm. Not.... a bad thing." Grudgingly.

"I thought not" A nod "And so far we've kept the sidhe out of here mostly though one day It's going to happen. Would you like to hear the good news?"

He gives her a sullen pout.

"Sir Morthwyl ap Gwydion? the guy who 'patrols' these areas as if someone elected him sheriff? Big hammer? "

"Yes." A quiet growl.

"He's gone. He got a squire, and decided she needed a proper noble hold... so he's off to Brightwinds. One less sidhe coming too close to our club"

"That -is- good news." he sounds as if he regrets that.

"You say it's good news, but you sound less than thrilled?" She points out the odd clash of word and tone

"No... no, it -is- good news. You're right, one less sidhe. And squire."

"I admit.... I'd entertained the fantasy of meeting that overstuffed falcon in a dark alley but...."

"Oh.. yes I could see why you would. he was pretty sly for a jock falcon but I dare say you had him 80% fooled"

"More, if I put my mind to it."

"True" She kisses him "Well , if some replacement comes we'll know that they don't understand patiencce and forebearance"

"And thus, we won't offer it."

"Okay" she agrees. "Now.. about yule?" A smile

He puffs a little, amused. "Mmm.... yes, Yule."

"Well, obviously the grand kids are afactor, but i don't want them stealing all our holiday" A wink "So..what do you want this year? "

"To do. "

"Oh, I thought we might plan and create a special meal to enjoy together? I might have a gift or two for you."

"You know how this most spiritiual of times brings out my material side" She beams "I'd love that. " A thought "mm Christmas Goose or is that too Dickensian?"

"If you want me to give you a goose, I am only too happy to oblige." he leers a little.

"Anytime.. but I meant food" Still tickled though

He chuckles. "Goose it is."

"Would you like to go.... fully Dickensian with the menu?"

"I enjoy your Dick...ensian efforts"

He snerks. "May I do the planning, we'll cook together?"

"I think that would be ideal"

"Done." He takes her hand and kisses it.

She beams at him "Now, about Tonight's dinner.. I knwo it's not dickeensian, but I have this idea for meat loaf with some new spices"

"I love your meatloaf." he admits. "May I mash the potatoes?"

"Please," She says "Oh, well, if you love it as is... maybe I shouldn't do the new spices?"

"Ah, but one of the things I love about it, and you, is your willingness to experiment."

A purr, "Okay, but if you like the original better you have to be honest about it. " A kiss and "Don't skimp on the butter"

"Callidora, does it look like I skimp on the butter?" he pats his belly.

"Ha. One thing I love about you. You know what matters in meals. FLAVOR"

"I am increasingly of the opinion that FLAVOR is all that matters in meals, and in life."

A wink "Well, there's something to be said for for good plating"

"I have always thought you know how to lay a delicious spread."

"I also spread deliciously"
