The news of S.T. Emerson's fall is amazing. Somehow the story got blown out of proportion to its minor situation comparatively, but how that happened? No one knows. The hits kept on coming, with the loss of his money considered to actually be a part in dealing with a drug cartel to help him out....

and once he falls, many of those he reviewed throw in the blackmail/bribes he took for reviews

And the Real Emerson (As real as Emersons get) can watch it fall apart close or from a distance.

Well, Mrs. Emerson either can't take the heat, or realizes what a jerk her husband is, depending on how you look at it.

CC peeks over, "Sure we shouldn't mess with her further?"

"It wasn't really her offense, Dearest. I don't see that she needs to suffer for it." Mildly, turning the newspaper page.

The magazine that employeed him is going to be issuing a retraction on his past reviews! With apologizes

"I didn't mean punishing her... just maybe letting her have a bit of fun. I know, REAL dangerous guys would be a bad idea.. but maybe a night of enchantment and a traggos?"

"Oh well..." CC ponders "You know me, a dark romantic."

Indeed, there is a letter! Sent in the mail from that magazine. Apologizing and asking if a new reviewer might be allowed to visit this year?

William nods. "Dearest, if you wish it.... of course. I trust you to introduce her to the idea?" He reads the letter. "What do you think, give them another chance?"

"You mean actually wow them fairly, me with song, you with the kitchen offerings? I think we're both too vain to refuse the chance to show them how wrong he was"

A chuckle. "I'll drop them a line tomorrow."

A kiss on the cheek, "Well done. Even if he gets proven innocent of somethings, his word as a critic will never be trusted again. "

"Hardly a difficult mission." But he seems quietly pleased.

"That's only because you are a force and a genius. For you? Hardly difficult. For others? Mmm"

"Well, I have you for inspiration. Now, doing this sort of thing to a Baron or greater? More of a challenge."

"No barons ruling KC." She reminds

"I didn't say there were, Dearest. And yes, the Wild West has an certain appeal."

"The new Bourbon is a hit," She says.

"Sorry, your comment about wild west made me think of your deal."

"Glad we could come to a mutually satisfying arrangement."

"Now, it's getting closer to Samhain, you know what that means yes?"

"MMMmmmmm..." He grins and puts the magazine down to reach for her. "Tell me."

"It means slowly surely, we have a chance to see the mothers go Unseelie, well, April and June- and we might see Caesar flip.. .and he's going to hate his 'asshole phase'" She says

"Oooo...." His eye growns wide. "Yes indeed...although I admit I'm less interested in Caesar's flip than the ladies."

"me too, we need to see how compatiable they are in either. " A low mention, "ALso, is it bad? I'm curious what they'll be like, each of us plays our role, and it is telling that while they are not fae souled , they have enough influence they too have courts."

He nods, drawing her into his lap. "I agree; it bodes well for the children in some ways. Is it bad that ... I'm tempted?"

"Oh, put them through their paces while I have the chance. See how far they might go."

"If you think you can do it without endangering the children, then, if you are asking my opinion, I think you perhaps should. I mean, we may not remember what they are like on Samhain"

He strokes his chin. "The children can't be risked, true. Delicate....."

"Perhaps both ladies on the same evening is too ambitious." Then, wry, "I should leave that to Caesar....."

"Caesar detests his Unseelie side. " A sigh "He isn't bad, just...rather commanding and territorial..."

"I can't imagine...." murmured.

"I don't think he's THAT bad, but he is used to being a nice guy by default so.." She shrugs "But when you said 'having them both' mmm " Amused "Are you actually hoping to test them yourself in.. that way?"

He chuckles. "Just a bit inbred, even for DeBukes, don't you think?" Teasing.

"I was wondering" She snickers

"My apologies. Truly, your heart is pure"

That makes him bark with laughter.

A soft laugh and hug

He snuggles her.

"mm okay. So you push them while they're tipping to the edge and we learn about who they are on the winter side."
