"I wouldn't think so, no." He assures her. "My Dear Miss April, I believe every word you say. Now. Do you believe they saw you come here?" He reaches for the phone, dials the Club, and leaves word for Miss CC to join him at her convenience. No, nothing urgent.

"Very likely, I don't pretend to be the best at hiding" She admits

"Hm." He claps his hands together and breaks into a brief, flowing, interpretive dance, making the location slightly less noticable.

It also looks a bit silly.

She smiles "I envy that"

"I have called for reinforcements, as well." A smile. "Now. Tell me how you have been?"

"Wonderful actually, the college campus here is very nice, and the botany program is eager to have me. Caesar has been... " a light blush "very kind after a rocky start."

A chuckle. "He has a good soul. Believe me, he did not seek this situation but he will do the best he can. For all of you. Have you spoken to your sisters?"

"More than once, I can't believe you convinced May-Maude to stick it out"

A smile. "The should not be a quid pro quo situation, but there is no reason we cannot all be.... comfortable. Feel fulfilled."

"Well, June thinks we're all being tempted. She's not far wrong" good naturedly

A chuckle. "I prefer to think of it as a mutually satisfying arrangement."

"I bet you do," She says "We're protected now from whoever is following?"

"Less noticable." He hedges.

"Fair..the mountain does that sort of thing all the time. He says it's not fool proof. Well, actually he says nothing is because fools have a way about them." Fond.

A pleasant smile, and April is unlikely to recognize the glint in his eyes. "Ah yes.... I would imaging your Mountain is a key reason your farm has had such success."

"Well, I wouldn't put the kibosh on any of the three" She says "Four really"

A phone call comes in

He takes it. ".... four? Hello?"

"Hey boss, Rocco" The redcap and head of his bouncers, " I found the shadows. Do you want me to do something about it? And ..if so. How much?"

"I need to know more. Were they sent, or are they independent actors? What do you think? What are they?"

"They've got some cantrip or treasure going so I can only see the shadows.. I suspect a nocker tech and that's the flaw... I'd have to knock one out to interotage. Hyou want me to engage? I can tell you where they're standing"

"Where?"

"They're wandering around the street. One is in front of Caesar's house... I think it's a stake out"

"The other is mobile, up and down, up and down.. stupid splitting like that but i guess near invisilibty has them cocky"

"Take them out. Capture, if you can."

"If I don't call in 10, something went wrong." And he hangs up.

There are times Bill could be fond of Caps.

"Everything okay?" April inquires

"Just fine!" He turns back to her. "You were saying.. four?"

"Oh I probably shouldn't have said that much but.. well... yes. We have a Chief, A Storm, A Hearth and A mountain. Some lodges have the Chief as one of the three... but in our case the Chief is separate. We have the numbers to make it work and it keeps a better balance of power anyway. The three can over rule the one. Now our Storm and Chief are the youngest... though I'd hardlhy call Murray young... but they're both powerful .. in their way. And the elders..well, outsides tend to underestimate a Hearth. Foolish. And the Mountain is..well, let's just say you're not far off about him. "

"Powerful." To confirm.

"Yes" She says "I can't tell you too much. Oaths and such become involved. Truth I've told you too much alreaedy. Though I suppose you will be family"

"Just so! Although of course I understand discretion, and good to see you do too." Firmly. "I imagine we will meet, one of these days."

"I imagine" SHe says "I really am sorry if I lead folks here but they always say if you're followed go to someone's house you trust"

"You did exactly the right thing."

"THank you, Mr. Stodepole." SHe says "Fae gifts run in our blood, but I didn't want to push my luck"

The phone rings again.

"Hello?"

"Boss. We got Eiluneds"

"Damn."

"You captured one? Where are you, I am on the way."

"Actually, WE got two. Ryker and Hugh helped me. FIghting fair odds is for suckers."

"I know a ware house you don't use. If you want ot use it.." he gives the location and adress "Just ignore the condemned sign. " Not one of his regular drop offs , nothing tied to him. Good

(Pause)

"Good man." Muttered as he hangs up. "Miss April, do make yourself at home. I will return as promptly as possible."

"Yes sir.. I have my gun" She says. Touching her purse.

Of course she has a gun!

"Of course. " murmured, and out he goes.
