Another day, Caesar enters the club during it's closed hours.

As son of one half of the bosses, he gets in pretty easily.

Stodgepole.... easy enough to think of him that way, although Caesar must have suspicions.... looks up from the table he sits at with invoices. A wealth of details for a man like him. "Caesar! Hello, what brings you?"

"Did you guys set me up at that farm?" He takes a seat puling one up to join him.

"How do you mean 'set up'?"

"You didn't warn me it was the land of blue amazons"

"You knew it is a troll lodge." Reasonably.

"It was farm.. and yes, a troll lodge, you didn't tell me that there were so many trolls and or troll kinain or that a third of them were young, nubile, and single women."

Stodgepole frowns with concern. "My apologies, Caesar, I didn't realize you would be so concerned about such an environment." There is a tell-tale twinkle in his eye.

"Uh huh... okay, won't like, I enjoyed part of it, but those ladies were looking for more than a good time. They're wanting too hook a guy long term. Their dads have shot guns, and not chimerical ones"

"You seem unperforated." He observes.

"not the point" He says "Is mom trying to set me up for grandkids again?"

He sighs, and rubs the bridge of his nose. "Not that I am aware of... I'd hoped the pets would help."

"Uh huh" Amused suddenly "I see.

"

"Caesar, your kith are not known for physical fidelity. I accept that with Callidora, happily. I would hope you'd be clear with anyone you choose to be with, too, especially a troll who can be so.... focused, at times."

"Yes?" At his apparent amusement.

"Oh just that if mom wanted to scare you, all she'd have to do is start kniting little mittens. THAT'S funnyh" The big man chuckles

"I hope I would clarify who they were for, before outright panic." with dignity.

"No, Caesar, Callidora and I have spoken of it. More than once. This is not a lifetime for me to have guardianship of a child. Or childling." He takes a sip of the stout at his place.

"I hear you.. which means she might counting on me" he sighs

"Grandkids..."

"Assuming she has that goal in mind. Truth, Caesar...." He leans in just a bit. "She wants you to be happy. That's all."

"Yeah, yeah, I know." he sighs.

He cocks his head. "What... what would that take, Caesar? Understanding, of course, it will change."

"I'm not sure why she thinks I'm miserable." he says "i'm good, you know?"

He purses his lips. "Mmm.... not miserable. Good. But. Happy?"

"Well," Not as sure "Who is happy all the time? "

"Fair point." He agrees.

"Still, I guess sometimes I worry I'm heading towards grumpdom alone. Mom.. well, she transitioned so well and smoothly I guess it helps me avoid the fact satyrs , lonely ones, don't do well with grumphood"

"I've seen photographs." A little wistful. "I can imagine. And...." growing firm, stern, ".... both you -and- Callidora would benefit from a familiar, if not regular, tragos." A sniff. "I can't be expected to do everything. Hm. Perhaps that's the way....." thinking.

"You're PLOTTING on our behalf for our own good? " An arched brow

"I am considering how to motivate Callidora to for a tragos bond." Loftily. "To show you a good example."

"Oh this should be good" He says drily

"You knoww what, I'll play along. If you can get mom to do it, I will do it with a lot less fuss and I'll make time for it. Okay?"

A sly grin. "Deal."

"How come I feel suddenly that you are the one who should be wearing horns?"

A chuckle. "Well, we aren't home and dry yet. Callidora must needs be convinced."

"Yeah, if anyone could do it, it's you. Sometimes I think mom loves the spotlight so much she worries in a trago she'd just be one among others... on stage, she's the star and others are just co stars at best"

"Oh, I dont see that happening." Confidently.

"me neither, but mom might be less confident than she looks. "

".... Something I will never understand."

"I was too young to remember details, but she spent a lot of years on the run, looking over her shoulders. She couldn't even trust tragos...not completley... you'd think that somehow making it through, getting me where I am today- and a lot of credit to her for it- that she would be down right smug, but.." He ponders "Sometimes I think some part of her will always be that single mom desperately worried someone was right about her not being good enough .." He glances around 'Which is nuts. Look around here. THIS is her dream, and she's got you on top of it. I tell you, you make her smile like I've never seen ... not in over ten years"

(Pause)

The boggan leans back. "I knew you had thought about this a good deal. Your background, that is. What has Callidora told you, and what is your guessing?"
