A troll walks into a club.

That's the gag. It's also a fact.

The troll is a she, as opposed to a sidhe, and is dressed in clothes that look a bit good willish but they are clean. Rather than take a seat ,she talks to Hugh (Who is a good boy) and waits.

Hugh goes on break, and on his return, asks the troll the purpose of her visit beyond, you know, the howling good time.....

Her brow knits, perhaps wondering if she should protest the pun or roll with it, "I was told they might hire a cook here."

"Mel Sharples? Yeah, sure, hon." Hugh is a good boy and makes sure she is seated and served. "Let me know if you need something else?" Ears UP.

"I.. if I coudl talk to your boss? Ryker DeBuke suggested I try here. " But she takes a seat.

A huff. and she waits.

"Aaaoowwah...." And Hugh wanders off, following his nose.

"Pooka Bouncers," A sigh "Probably have a redcap public relations manager."

After a time (time for a drink or two) a one-eyed boggan appears at her table. "May I be of some assistance?"

'Ah, yes sir. My name is Hortensia. I'm a cook, though I'm out of practice. My friends call me Teensy" She says straight faced, "I was recently..helped by Ryker DeBuke. The DeBukes offered to keep me over, but I decided I'd rather be more cosmopolitin and this place was suggested by Ryker as it might hire. As apparetnly you folks are in the know. Nudge Nudge Wink WInk" She says deadpan. "I'm good cook, have done a suet chef duties at one time, and know some slavic dishes that will knock your socks off."

"Do you? Impress me." And he waves her off to the kitchens.

A look as if her doesn't believe her? Fine. She rolls up her sleeves, "Not even a problem" And in she goes to the kitchen.

CC appears only when she's gone, "Who was that ruggamuffin? That poor woman looks like she mugged a lumberjack's cast offs"

"Claims to be assisted by Ryker. Ask him to join us?"

"Oh definitely. Ryker's a fine kinian" Voice low "But if he's going to make suggestions for trying out here in any capacity ... mmm"

He laughs softly. "True. I think it was a suggestion on -my- side of the house. She is trying to impress me through the kitchen."

"I did notice the sleeves rolled up. Odd, her people.. you know, tall guys, don't get much respect as cooks, but apparently it's a lot more common that we realize"

"Mmm... I've been attracted to a troll or two of the culinary nature in my time." He stands up at the table. "Do you wish to see her? With me? Without?Or shall I send her to the street regardless after a fair show>:

"The kitchen here is yours, lover, we agreed on that." SHe smiles "I trust you won't let the idea of having a big tall azure hued kitchen wench bias your judgment?"

He barks a laugh. "Not without your consult and aapproval!"

"Good to know" She smiles "I suppose the rest is waiting to see what she can whip up" A kiss on his cheek "Have fun putting her through any paces"

The smell of Pierogi drifts out.

He watches her work on the monitors, and when she seems about ready he meanders into the kitchen.

She moves with certainty, and confidence.

The Fried aroma is strong, yet there is something else cooking .

He takes a seat at the informal chef's table.

Teensy works spices into a meat patty , the meat being a mixture of pork, lamb, and beef. It is expertly grilled and well, whether Mr. Stodgepoole has ever tried Pljeskavica , well, he gets a chance at it now.

As the good comes along, he samples it thoughtfully, watching her work in person, now.

She doesn't seem to care, troll fingers move nimbly, no strength lost. Soon the slavic dish is prepared. Throught out she moved with the certainty and resolve her kith is known for. those in her way....they make a hole before she makes a hole through them.

Stodgepole smiles nostalgicly and chews. "Nicely done."

"Better than nicely, sir, but you may need time for the flavors to fully be appreciated."

"What sort of situation are you looking for?"

"Honest pay, honest work, with recognition of what I can do and it not going to waste. "
