At 11, CC and he have a private moment, near their balefire, just the two of them. "Happy Valentine's day, lover. It's going to get very crazy soon at the club but i thought an hour to ourselves we'd get away with"

He's removed his jacket; it lays across the back of one of the chairs. He loosens his tie. "So thoughtful, Dearest. Thank you." Gently. "It's not Beltaine, after all, but it -is- an observance and a business opportunity all in one."

"Yes, well, So...something to read, something to eat? Anything preferred?"

He spocks an eyebrow at that, but says mildly enough. "Well, we'll be rushed out there so... let's have lunch. What would you like?"

"Already prepared, my love..." She ducks behind a counter and pulls out roast pheasant under glass, and a fine white wine "here we are ...somewhere a noble lord is watching his food being lead in and discovering it's been replaced by McNuggets"

"And Sprite" She says as she breaks out the lovely wine

He blinks rapidly, surprised, and then gives her a jolly laugh. "Oh dear, well done...."

"Thank you..." A smile and food is served

He helps with place settings and such, and carves as needed. They enjoy their meal.

"Any thoughts on Carnival?"

"Too many actually, have a big bash here and a sort of madigras night to lure mortals business and othewise, go out to another hold and show of our finest costumes... all sorts of things"

He chuckles, "Well. Perhaps I should seek to learn Chronos, so we can have all the time in the world, hm?"

"If you feel you need a hobby" a smile and a sip of her wine

"You keep me quite busy as it is, but if you wish it... well, I don't make idle threats." A smile.

"I don't wish it, dear... i'm just rolling with it. I want you HAPPY..." A nip of the phesant "Okay, this is good. "

"It really is." He agrees. "And I am." He smiles at her, all the to his eyes. "And not just because of lunch."

A smile "Good. Reading next... " She hands over a chimerical nnewspaper?

"I circled few things"

He takes it and scans obediently.

The Concordian Knot paper covers all sortsof news... the ones that are circled include a noble knight on the run for the murder of another noble, a trollish resistance in Duhchy of Northern Ice, a vault of dross stolen clean from an Ailil Lord

"Before you ask, no I didn't. BUT.. I think you know who did... in fact, I think you left the reins to her. "

"Oh...." almost a proud papa sound (!) "... you do? Why?"

"Because some of them are projects I know you were considerinng, others are done in a style whih is..different, but very you"

"Tsk. I may have left a few things undone, but the work is her own. And you are correct that it -could- be her."

"Well, the ability to rile TROLLS who were loyal into protest if not outright rebellion is impressive. Even if not her and her cohorts? It's good news" A seductive grin

(pause)

He nods with a wistful, nostalgic, fond expression. "I knew she was the right choice, almost from the moment we met. Thought she was Kinain for a long time, then... I turn around and she's Kith. And she's very good. I wish her the best."

"If she only did a third of this... then she may not need the wish" CC says

"It's smarter to be lucky than it's lucky to be smart."

"You do have a way with words" She kisses him.

"I wish I did; I stole that."

"It's called a quote, educated men do it all the time." CC waves it off 'I'll forgive the lack of accreditation"

He chuckles, and leans over to kiss her. "Well. A most pleasant meal, conversation, and company. Thank you, Dearest."

"Oh time goes so quickly... " she says with regret 'oh, Caesar told Earl. He's telling Zara"

"-GOOD.-" Firmly.

"earl, it seems was estatic. thinks caesar found the perfect place. Bask in my egoswell, darling"

"Aaaahhhh....." he cuddles a little closer to do so "Glorious."

A chuckle and she strokes his face, "I love you. You are so indulgent, and yet so challenging , so supportive, and yet push at the right times. I don't know how you do it, but I know I wouldn't trade moments for you for a palace and a co-ed Harem"

He presses his lips to her shoulder. "I love you. You are witty and passionate and talented. You are unexpected. You've made a new man of me, something I didn't think was possible. The trouble is, of course, that now you are stuck with me. I would be very content to, when the time comes, end my life with you."

"Well, let's not leap into the balefire singing "I did it my way " together for several more years, okay?" A kiss "And thank you. later after hours I will show you the full breadth of my passio as we cook a midnight menu just for us...and then you get to eat it off me. In the mean time..." A sigh "Back to work, club is about to go crazy"

"OOooo... I do look forward to a late supper, then." He kisses her one more time, tidies up, and walks her out. "Ready?" taking a deep breath.

Sad songs and happy refrains, glasses clink and hearts rise and sink. It's Valentine's Day. And Satyress sinful and Boggan evilish make their way among their roles to make it shine.
