"Ha," A grin and a few rings of smoke, "Pretty clear and crystal when you put it that way."

He chuckles. "Well, between this, and DeBukes in Renaissance, I guess you can count on our support, Emmitt."

"How is your girl by the way?" He asks, "Coy mentions it's all going well, and she's taken some non sidhe title? he told me what it was, but it sounded like challupah or something and that can't be right."

"Lady Calpuleh. It's a native title, from what she said. Kind of a ... leader of a village collective, from what she said. One of those hard-to-translate things."

"Huh," A nod, "I like that. Lady Calpuleh. Shows she's trying to get in touch with the land and the folk there not as their ruler but their leader. Your daughter's pretty savvy in her way, Frank. "

He chuckles, but proudly. "She doesn't see it that way. But she is."

"I think modesty runs in your bloodline, sir. " A grin, "But your pride does leak out a bit where she's concerned, as it should. Nothing quite like seeing your own be more than even you imagined."

He nods agreement.

"You would know better than I. You have a fine family, deep roots."

"Maybe we should see if she wants to send a troll from Fenix along? Not Coy, DeBukes have enough."

He lifts an eyebrow. "Could ask. Don't know how many they have down there but...."

"Good point. And there's a chance Jessica might try to come along. How would you hold up if she did?"

He laughs softly. "Can't agree with you there. Oh, she might be tempted, but I don't think she'd leave Renaissance for as long as it would take. Heck, she manages to pull herself away for a weekend in the summer and Thanksgiving."

"If she came along, though, I hope I'd be able to handle it. Not baby her."

"Better man than I was. My first daughter, I ..well, I tried to treat her like glass, and ooo, after a time I got what fore, and rightly so. Long time ago. We're better now."

"Oh, this is the product of years of work. I'd like to point out Jess left home for a year working with the Peace Corp and elsewhere, -then- moved to Mexico." Wry.

"Hard not to take it a little personal when they decide to go to another side of the continent, aint it?" He admits, "My son? He went to New Zealand. And I was thinking 'was it something I said?'."

"New Zealand." Impressed.

"Yeah, way before that Lord of the Rings stuff too." A shake of his head, "Eventually I visited the area, went onto Australia and made a few friends, but at the time I thought it was a bit hurtful him acting like I was someone he owed money too." a grin

He nods. "I didn't have my parents long enough to do it to them, but I'm sure I would have."

"King of the road," He smiles.

"But symathies on the loss of your folks early."

He nods. "Thank you. I've thought on it, though, and I can see Da'an at work, I think."

"I wouldn't have had Jess if my parents had been alive at the time. I miss them, but... I can see it."

A nod, "If Mortal, I am sure they went to their rest, if troll, then they circle anew. Sometimes I feel so old I almost..." A sigh "Well, let's just say I sometimes envy the young their fresh eyes and fiery hearts. "

Frank shakes his head. "They were mortal. Might have had a grand-uncle who was troll, or kin; stories aren't clear, and they were so long ago..." He shrugs. "Still, good to see new generations keeping up the good fight."

"Yes. Clem, Jessica, even Sylvi and Gerd. Damn fine women taking the lead eventually I am thinking. " Amused, "Might need to tell the boys to step up."

He chuckles. "Well, from what you said at least one of them is trying. And Tig and Lut are solid guys."

"Well, I did underestimate Earl. That's on me as much as any of them," A sigh, "misteps."

"Earl.... the artist, right? He did some work at Rivervale. Don't know him that well but he seems like a good guy too." Frank sighs. "Don't suppose he's got a girl?"

"He sure does, worships the ground she barely makes sound on. Sluagh girl named Zara."

He frowns. "Hm. Well, long-shot anyway. You like Zara?"

"Now Frank, who are you trying to find a match for?" Curious.

"Just not thrilled with the guy Jess is seeing. Like I said, long-shot. Not really serious. Probably a death sentence to really try it."

"Mmm you don't have our problems with sidhe so much, so I'm assuming the fellow's Unseelie." A nod, "Some Seelie girls do get attracted to the 'bad boys', but Jessica's got a good head on her shoulders. either she'll bring HIm around, realize she needs someone who shares the same values, or maybe he'll be one of the tolerable ones. She won't put up with a complete user or loser for long," He assures the younger man. "Coy's down there, but I think he's been eying the Scribe lady they have. Hard to tell though, our Kith is not big on kissing and telling."

"Yeah." Grudgingly. "Kerri met him. Didn't hate him. Jess's guy, I mean. Of course, she might be biased too."

"mm well now, If anyone can give her tips on wrangling Unseelie and making something of them" he winks "Though to be fair, Olgar seems to be more solid than I'd give him credit for at first glance. Maybe you rubbed off on him."

"Well, we didn't have much to do with each other for a lot of years. I was hostile, for a while." He admits.

"well," he scratches the back of his head, "Can't throw stones at you there either. We'll still reeling from the idea that nobles have helped us. Old hatreds linger. I more mellow than most here about among the elders, but I didn't put a stop to it ... took heroic action and folks like Clem to help there."

"Well, my own history.... not exactly noble-friendly."

"You sure you don't have some DeBuke your bloodline?" A wink

He chuckles. "As far as I know, I'm third-generation Californian."

"Fair enough. We may have hollered some oats just about anywhere at one time or nother." he looks at the bridge again, "Lord, what a beaut. "

He looks back. "It really is." Sincerely.

"Frank, I think your folks have more than repaid us for any use of that ship. I mean, we can get you out to see, but you folks at Rivervale? You've helped get us back out in the world."

He shakes his head. "Helped, maybe, but you owe it to Clem and other other youngers."

"Yep. Mark my words, Clem's going to be chief one day. Don't tell her I said that. "

Frank zips his lip. "I had a feeling, though."
