By now, Frank has heard Olgar report to Brekke about the new trod way, and a grand thing it is too, stating as a covered bridge on the RV side with a midwest touch, it turns into a trod that arcs high up, then comes down to a foot bridge of sorts crafted from Jersey pine on the other end with runes that seem a lot like some of the wood work Brekke herself has done.

Frank stands looking at it, impressed.

"Nice, aint it?" Just the man he came to see, Emmit. "Don't have to be a soothsayer to get the hint the Dreaming is trying to tell us it's time to trust more. And pointing out who we can trust."

Frank's face splits in a grin. "Hello, Emmit.... and yes, I tend to agree."

"Now, you wanted to see me even before this, unless you knew this was going to happen, in which case, Frank. I think I should doff my hat." He pats the younger mountain on the shoulder, "What can I do for ya?"

"Well, wanted to touch base. Heard everything went real well with Sylvi." A small smile. "Wanted to be here but.... more important for Kerri and Olgar to be."

"I know for a fact they took some pictures" Emmit laughs. It's clear he's still amazed at the bridge/trod himself. "But touching base is a good idea. Sylvi and Gerd have been a joy. Sylvi seems to tackle everything with gusto, and Gerd lights up a room with her laugh." A pause, "Afraid she may never like chickens after this. Oh sure to eat, but she and the rooster got off on the wrong foot. Not a morning person, Gerd."

He laughs. "We'd noticed, but that's still funny."

"Not a rooster-pooka, is it?"

"Heh. No, rooster Chimera... tends to go in after you and pull blankets if you ignore it."

He laughs again, clearly seeing the scene in his head.

"And they're making friends... " he lights his pipe but angles so the smoke won't be carried into Frank's face. "Maybe a bit more than friends but we're keeping an eye on that. Kerri will want to be talking to us about that I'm sure. heck, she probably already has with Agnes. Women's matters they'll call it. I've discovered that's their go to phrase when they think a fellow would just handle things wrong." Amused.

"More than friends?" Mild surprise. "But....oh. Right. Not Gerd, though, right?"

"Oh certainly not." he assures

He nods, reassured. Then after a moment of thought, chuckles.

"And nothing beyond anyone's years, I promise you."

"Sure." Quietly amused.

Amused himself. "Probably think they're the first folks that ever stole kisses by the creek."

He laughs again, then winces. "Oh, man."

"Best to let them think they're not watched. Might send both to a life of celibacy forever when they're 40..."A Pause, "Then again, Olgar might prefer that."

He nods. "Pretty much promise you that."

He pauses. "Um, did the .... other party meet Olgar?"

"I think the women folk have decided Kerri will be told first, and then Kerri will decide how much to share."

"Sometimes wimmen is wise" He concedes with a wink

He chuckles. "Smarter than I am, anyway."

"Oh, you're a bright fellow, Frank. I can tell that by how you married well. Also, I don't know her well, but the Shacklebreaker doesn't strike me as the sort to settle." A pat on the shoulder, "Now surely you didn't come here to ask about puppy love and marriage only?"

Quick, Make a statue!

He chuckles briefly. "No. I did also want to tell you, The Chieftess and I have spent a few weeks learning to sail." Pleased. "We have certificates!"

"Well, that's dandy. " He nods, "Probably got her out and about too. If she's anything like Agnes it takes an act of god or high summer pranking to get her to take a vacation."

Frank rubs the back of his neck. "Pretty much." Ruefully.

"See, you're smart too." A grin, "Now that means you'll want to be taking the ship out soon. Wooo well, that's gonna be a trip. You got gear as well as the skills?"

"I wanted to ask what gear we need. I've seen the beauty, but we didn't exactly inspect it."

"Well, you can never have too much rope I'm told. And I for one figured a spare sail. Food, food's good. Fruitcake lasts for awhile, traditional traveler's bit. I don't know if scurvy exists in the dreaming but fruit bits sound like a winner."

He nods. "Ok, so food, water..... spare parts." Thinking "Shelter? Stuff inside the shelter? I'm guessing mostly camping gear type stuff. If we make landfall, it should do double-duty."

"Might want stuff that handles water well, yes. And that's not a bad idea."

"Foul weather gear?"

"Sea dreams inevitably become stormy dreams"

He nods. "Right."

Thinking.

"Now in the Dreaming you may not need dross, but it can be still be used , especially as trade. Goes without saying you'll want weapons and the like. trouble will come."

"Hm. Weapons we have, the rest we'll want to talk to Kerri about."

"What do you think about some trial runs?"

"I think that might be sensible. Now , remind me ... you, the chieftain, that vali lad? Anyone else from Rivervale coming along ? Did I get that right?"

"Well, as of right now we're the only ones with the training. How many hands do we need?"

"Oh that should do it, assuminng you're okay witha DeBuke or two on board."

"Absolutely!" He gestures to the Trod (assuming they're still in sight of it). "Seems like we need to be."
