Cathir storms into the hold "School is stupid"

"Is it now?" Sparrow quirks an elegant eyebrow.

"YES" A scowl "Can we just skip to Summer already?"

Oh she's in a tiff

"No, not as a rule. Why do you want to skip?"

"I can't... I know when the others are lying to me" She winces "The daughters of eve... they say they're my friends then lie to my FACE"

"Oh, pobrecita. Kids can be cruel." Sparrow opens her arms, inviting a hug.

Cathir actually abandons dignity and hurls herself into the baroness' arms

"Shhh, I'm here." Sparrow's golden wings form a soft cocoon around the pair, protecting Caithir's dignity and sheltering them from the world.

Inside the cover, she says "I told Katnis about how maybe we could study together? SHe said she'd love to but she had chores at home. It was a lie, but that was okay. Then she said 'you know you're my BEST friend' BIG lie. I don't think she even likes me. So I ask around others... she's studying with Becky and Becky doesn't like me so Katnis doesn't want to be seen with me because Becky is cooler or something. Becky's mean. She talks about EVERYONE behind their back. Why woudl Katnis like her?" The unspoken 'more than me' is there

Sparrow strokes the girl's hair. "It could be a lot of reasons. It might be that she thinks hanging out with Becky will make others like her. It might be that she's afraid that Becky might target her. It might be that she feels more important, tearing others down. Very little of that has anything to do with a lack on your part."

"Now - Irene, or Felicity, or Ashley, or Grete... they haven't been mean, have they?"

"Felicity probably hates me but she's an Eiluned so I can't be sure" Grumble "And Irene is like her sister now..." A sigh "And Grete is ... well, I don't understand the rock fixation? I try to? But sometimes I don't know what to talk about her. Ashleigh's okay " An admission "They're ALL okay I just. I stopped being bossy, but now I feel like I'm on the side of everything. And I make mortal friends, only I guess Katnis is a coward"

"It can be... hard... with mortals. You're different, in a way they can sense but you can't explain to them. You have a duty to protect them, and that causes a... separation. Not unlike being titled amongst the fae."

"It's not that you can't form true friendships, but... there are challenges there. And sometimes, things don't work out no matter how much you wish them to." A soft note of regret.

"No one considers me their best friend" She says "is it wrong to want to be someone's favorite?"

"No, it's not."

"Am I your favorite?" Hope dangles by a string

"I try not to have favorites. But you, dear heart, are very special to me. How often do we get to have friends from more than one life?"

True!

"That's true" She cheers, a bit , "Two lives of friendship. that's.. that's nice" She wipers her nose

And Sparrow may be glad she managed to dodge that bullet with tact and honesty

"It is!" She kisses the top of the childling's head. "Do you want to see if Hope has ice cream in the freezer?"

"Yes, please." She cheers up at the notion. School sucks. Life is horrible. But at least there is ice cream

"Alright then. I do know we have strawberries." She unfolds her wings, but lets Caitir decide when to stand up.

Catir does and taking sparrow's hand, heads her towards the kitchen

Sparrow gives the girl's hand a little squeeze. And of course there is ice cream. Boggans just are good at these things.

Hope is happy to give them some lovely servings

"You know, we should probably make sure ther'es enough ice cream for other childlings if they come in?" Catir says after thinking it over "They might have had a bad day too"

"That's very thoughtful of you."

"Well, I'm have a good teacher" she smiles at Sparrow

That earns a smile. "Flatterer."

"Oh, it is?"

"Yup. Took down notes. " She says
