"Irene!" Ganbold yells through the halls of he hold as he races through "IIREEEEEEENNNEE!" Clop clop clop

He peeks in the kitchen, "Miss Mary Ellen? Have you seen Irene? I wanted to show her something"

The bogggan has not- have a cup cake.

Munching a cup cake the boy centaur tromps around

"MMPHRIm.."Oh he better swallow and try again. GULP "IRENE??"

He hears a terrible noise coming from outside. Grinding, cracking, crushing. Some distance away, but still audible when he passes a window.

Reverse Trot.. and peek out the window

A short, sturdy girl is sitting next to some sort of device from which the sound emits. She has a dropcloth spread out before her that she's examining, and doesn't seem bothered by the racket.

He opens the window, and probably what Grette sees is a boy in a half mask with a faux unicorn horn "HI! Have you seen Irene??"

Irene is nearby - with headphones! - making little piles of shiny rocks.

She likes to sort them by color!

"Oh I'll be right out!" Ganbold yells, and then clatters out to join Irene and grete

So it is, they will see that Ganbold is wearing a brand new 'Unicorn Riders' T shirt, and yes, he's a centaur with a HORN! (Okay, the mask has the horn)

As he gallops towards them!

He has to get close before Irene notices, but it's clear when she does - a huge grin breaks across the piskie's face and she waves!

"TADAA!" He poses!

Grete notices Irene moving before she notices Ganbold approach, but then she waves as well. Reaching over, she plucks a small rock hammer back from Irene's pile, and returns it to her belt, but without any visible irritation.

Reaching over, she flips a switch on the rock tumbler, and the sound mercifully ceases with a final crackle and grind. "Who's this?"

Irene claps.

She takes off the headphones. "OH! This is Ganbold, he's new! Ganbold, this is Grete!"

"I am Ganbold, Khan in trainining" A grin "Hi Grete! Cool, you're new, well, so am I but i mean i never met a whatever kith you are! I'm a Centaur." then confidentially "The unicorn part is just a disguise"

"I think you look fantastic!"

"Khan? Like the tiger from that jungle movie?" She gives him an appraising look. "I've met centaurs. We have a lot of them. More than wichtels, even. But you're more popular. No one ever tried to kidnap me. Well, not since Harkson, and he's dust now."

"But you were imprisoned in a dungeon."

"Thanks, Irene! Ross and Rose got it for me, they're nice. I suspect despite their sad pasty features they have mongol blood in them And if they don't, they're cool anyway" he informs his friend, then looks to Grete "A Khan is like a great chieftain of the mongols... who's harkson?"

"So not a tiger? Aw." A little disappointed. "Harkson was the old boss here. Sparrow threw him off a cliff though, and let everyone out again. It's MUCH better now."

"She threw the bad gguy a off a cliff? Did he do the scream? You know... "He makes his best impersonation of the WIlheilm scream

"Lady Sparrow was a hero. I wish I coulda seen it."

"I was forgotten, but she brought all the childlings back!"

"I don't know. I was locked up at the time." And she nods to Irene. "Me too. I think maybe Hope saw it. Or some of the others. We could ask?"

"Little Joe was there, I know."

"I like Little Joe. He's not little, you know." She lets Ganbold know. "But I guess it's because he's not that they can call him that. I wouldn't like being called Little Grete, even if I am short."

Ganbold nods then looks at Grete "maybe you're not so much short as grete sized?"

She considers this, and then nods. "I suppose I am."

Thenn he looks at Irene "You were forgottten? What.. what's that like? I'd hate to forget i had four legs"

Irene laughs. "You ARE Grete sized. Maybe we could use you to measure things..."

"Yeah! For example, if you need to make a door for the Fort, it needs to be at least two Grete's or one Ashlee tall."

Then she frowns. "You don't want to forget. When you forget you feel... empty, like there's always something missing, but you don't know what. You try to ignore it, or act alright, but it's just... wrong. I didn't want to do anything, I just played video games because they helped.. like.. like, I didn't have to be me, when playing them..."

"Oh! Yeah, Ashlee is SO two Gretes tall!"

"And Little Joe is THREE!"

"She's also two Gretes or Three Irene's strong. But maybe only half a Grete tougher." A grin.

She looks at Ganbold appraisingly for a moment, examining him.

"So, we measure in Gretes.. why not. I like it better than Metric"

He's tall for his age, because, well he's a boy with a horse body under

"Would we measure Ganbold's length with Grete's like SO" Hand horizontal. "Or Gretes like SO?" Hands vertical and pressed together.

She nods to herself, and digs through a pocket to pull out a stone. She holds this between her boots in a practiced motion, and brings out a tool with a pointed end and a small hammer, and starts tapping at it.

Then she stops, frowns, and exchanges the tools for a tiny handcranked drill. Completely focused.

"Oh, we lost her. I think she found a special rock. Grete talks to them, y'know."

"We could" A nod then he looks at the Wichtel "She talks to Rocks? Like.. cantrips?"

After a bit of work, the tiny drill punches through the other side, and she looks up with a grin. A huff of breath to blow the dust off the stone - nevermind that she is covered in bits of grit - and she offers it out to Ganbold.

"Just... like, witchel's special magic. Like how trolls are strong, and sidhe are pretty."
