Cliff regards his kithmate suspiciously. Truth told, Cliff is a bit of an outlier himself, moving around the baron and even county as he does.

Wencenslais get a polite nod, though.

"Pardon the intrusion, I know you're working, but I seemed to have gotten myself in a predicament so feel obligated on more than one level to contact you a bit forwardly"

It is a slow day and an off hour. Cliff looks around, nods, and retreat into the truck a moment. He closes up and emerges with a couple cold drinks; tea is wonderful but it is hot in the truck and warm outside it. He offers one to the other sluagh.

the other sluagh takes it, "My thanks. So you're moving to Brightwinds for good? Now that it IS Brightwinds?"

"Need a bigger base than Fort Davis. Nature of the business model. Marfa, Valentine, Alpine. Fort Stockton, even."

"But yeah, want to include Ft Davis."

"How can I help you?" A sip "It is my 'job' now i seems, to make sure my kith thrives, and now that we're free of Harkson, free of the parasites leeching off glamour, the better"

"Put some flyers up for the truck?" Dryly.

a half chuckle half groan of a whispering kind "mock me not too hard, kith brother, i am trying."

"however, i can put word out. I take it you do serve some food suitable for us?"

"I can." He agrees "Gotta be careful."

"nice, as summer comes on , ice tea and suitable food might be in demand"

"what do you want to know the new lay of the land? Heard you ran into Grete and Pepper"

"Little one, and the troll? Yes." he takes a drink from his paper cup "They spoke well of the new nobel."

"Yes, she's the one who slew Harkson in combat, though argguably he doomed himself. Seems to be more democratic than some nobles if still traditionist. Of course, Harkson is a low bar to jump, but .. I confess, she's likable as Liam get"

A soft grunt. "Heard she came here from back East?"

"Missouri, but my sources say she was fledged in the Great plains for a time. But it's Earth Runes in Missouri where she was regent for a few years. Great beauty, but reserved from romance despite a Fiona upbringing. She was pushed forward by one Siv Waveborn to intervene.. and one of our own kind helped, a Symon the Denier though it's good taste not to mention him too much outside of our own kith. Ironic... Sparrow, as she is called, has faked being the widow of ole Harkson and taken a lot more than his hold and life. With the blessing of Harkson's neice you met, the Wichtel Grete."

"Earth Runes. Hm."

"Fiona hold" he nods

"Don't know a Symon, or Waveborn. Heard about Harkson getting deposed, of course."

"So that was the niece, Grete? I wondered. Not a common name or Kith."

"No, the Witchtel left in numbers it seems. Maybe they'll come back"

"Do you know why she was left behind? Because she's Harkson's blood?"

"Not sure.." A scratch of a chin, "I get the feeling Harkson didn't let her go far. Might not have been up to anyone else."

A grunt, nod. He takes a drink.

Sharp sluagh ears catch chatter. Something about Unicorn Riders and video games.

And patient "Mm-hmms" from the mother.

And a turn of Wenceslaus' head

"So what ..." he pauses, looks; today he has sunglasses on against the desert glare.

Those figures might see a food truck, temporarily on break, but it's driver not far

Cliff catches pointed ears and silver hair on the girl, before the pair enter BeaTK's... so, still some time to talk!

Cliff watches with a narrow expression. "That her?"

"No, that's Irene, little piskie girl. Works as a page at the hold. Her mother's mortal, over worked, the usual story there. Irene's all right as childings go, but like all Piskies you have to make sure you don't leave anything too interesting out unless you want to risk it being borrowed"

Inside the store, Bea T.K is happy to see customers, particularly Irene, and says "What I get you? Would you like some spring decorations maybe?"

"Grete said you had little unicorn toys?" Big hopeful eyes.

"Interesting." is Cliff's opinion of piskie natures. "So what do you want from me?" not belligerent, just asking.

Wen shrugs "Nothing that you might not want from any other sluagh. Keep your eyes and ears open for threats that might endanger us or return things to the old bad ways. Respectful mix of distance and courtesy. I don't envy you the crowds you must get. Also, if there's a request you want me to make on your behalf, let me know."

"Oh, Grete is right, " Bea TK says "Here we go, now these are from Scotland, a wood worker there has string from them so what they are are unicorn marionetes. Now I also have a stuffed animal unicorn, she IS so fluffy"

Cliff nods.

"Crowds are not that bad. They're out there. I'm in there." he gestures to the truck.

Irene is delighted by ALL of them, but keeps an eye on her mother... "Oh, oh, he's very fluffy, but maybe something.. smaller? That could fit in my pocket?"

"A barrier? yes I supose there's that" Wenceslaus nods back.

Her mom looks sympathetic and grateful

"Mostly just looking to run my truck. New Baroness have a problem with that?"

"Oh," Bea TK looks a bit worried, "i'm afraid I don't have any smaller ones left. I.. oh, wait, it's not a toy but..." She heads back "You know somethings I make myself. It's no bigger than a quarter, and it's not a toy but..."
