She fidgets a little. "Not really.... I mean, she didn't ask?"

"I was just thinking maybe we can make a paint out of this... and then use it to draw on the walls. Maybe even to make symbols, like runes... some warding if anyone knows how to do that? ...do you think the grownups would come in and want to take these stones away?"

Felicity's eyes widen "Runes and oh... Wichtel's are smarter than I thought"

Ashlee gives the Eiluned a LOOK

"If we can prove it's safe, then they won't worry about us being out here." She reasons, deciding not to take offense at that.

"I meant it as a compliment" The Eiluned adds

Ryder says "I want to start the fort first.... it'll be harder for them to tear it down if itt's half started"

Grete carefully gathers up the small bits and pieces - the broken crumbs that aren't clinging to a larger piece, and might like becoming something new, and sets them aside. "What's next?" Cracking her knuckles with a grin.

Ryder grins "Now we show them what a wichtel and nocker team up can do! " A look at the other girls "No offense, but her Kith knows STONE"

And Ryder pushes Grete into a kind of leadership role, or at least foreman ..forewoman? That makes no sense, there's only one of her! But anyway, she and he get to boss the others around, not because htey want to boss em, but because they know more.

It takes Grete a moment to reconcile with the new role - she's not used to leadership. But rather than ordering or commanding she looks for a sensible solution, and reasons it out with whoever is asked to do which task. Ashlee can wield a sharp shard as a punch to put windows or peepholes in one of the walls, but Irene is better at gauging where these should best be situated so that everyone of various heights can get a look... Felicity is asked to examine the rock to see if she can figure out any magical properties!

Annd Catir? The Gwydion girl doesn't want to be left out

Catir, of course, gets the best job. She stands up high on the top of the ledge closest to the fort, and scans for intruders or spies! She is brave and smart, and gets a warrior's task.

While Ryder does weird math in his head and geometries and stuff - and somehow knows the best angle for each piece so it doesn't collapse.

Catir is good with that!

Ryder says "Rounded walls resist battering rams better"

"How do we round them?" Running her hand over one of the larger slabs of metal left behind as scrap.

"Well, we can shave and shape or...fill the gaps"

"Roger, Ryder!" And she starts trying out some of those methods.

And soon it is forming, with effort and brainpower they work the stone like no one ever would!

Hours pass and ..the kids are running low on snacks! However, they have their space and room.

Ashlee wipes her brow

Grete is grinning like a dang fool - she LIKES this kind of work!

"Ahem" Sir Dubh the Grey, Chancellor and second in command speaks "What are you children doing?"

"Building the best furking forte EVAH" Ryder blurts

Grete straightens up with a start and bonks her head on the stone ledge she was excavating under. "Ow! Who's that?"

"That's Sir Dubh," A sigh from Catir "he's in charge when there's no sparrow."

And looks like there's some SPLAININ to do
