Clio looks up "Oh there's so much lore lost about them, Baroness. We can get it back now, at least some. I'm so happy to meet you all. "

"Clearly" Rose says eyes narrowing on the satyress for a moment, then she says to the Baroness "We're... well by now I'm probably fired from at least two of my jobs. "

"And so much lore they'll need to learn - do you think you could fill them in on the basics? Escheat and the major need to knows?"

"I was laid off" Ross admits "Not a happy year for tour guides"

"It wasn't your fault, Da. You were the best." She protests.

"Oof, no. Hard. Now, I might be able to help with the job..."

"Covid might actually help us out here."

"Wait, you can help us with a job?" Vanessa knows that tone from her mom. Mom is not material, but she damn well will fight to provide

"Well, if you liked your old job, I can talk to the boss. If you didn't, well, we can probably find something new..."

"It was awful!" She blurts out. A glance of apology to her mom. "Sorry mom, but it was. They were so mean to you at the restaurant. You didn't even get tips when it moved to takeout... and midnight at the grocery stores, you always said you didn't mind, but it was hard, I know it."

Rose blushes lightly "Thank you dear but it's fine"

"How is it peopple don't see us as we really are?" Ross is curious "What's an escheat? How many different types of changeling are there?"

"Oh, well then! We'll find you a better job. And for now, while you are learning, we can focus on that."

"Nessa, are you still in school?"

A shake of her head. "I graduated last year.... I wanted to look into college, but things were-" A pause. "...but I decided to take a break first." Her cheeks a bit pink, but trying to hold onto a bit of dignity.

She nods. "I took some time off, too. And honestly, it is pretty miserable by computer. So that means you don't have major human obligations, again, good for catching up on what you are, what we are, how this all works..."

"Do you have a place? Need to make rent?"

"We've been trying to livei n the RV." Ross says "It's not been comfortable since the change"

She whistles and nods.

Clio says "Oh there are many kiths, and the Escheat has a code we live by to protect us and the Dreaming. "

"It's like... we fit, but we don't. It's confusing..."

"I get that. Your legs might be chimerical, but they still feel real." She gestures at her wings. "My old car was a Civic."

One of the trolls grunts sympathetically

"And they ARE real, but they're not mortal..."

"We're both, it can get head-spinny."

"Hence the term changeling, fae spirits merged with human souls" Clio says "Or Kithain for our in culture terminology"

"Right, right - Clio, let's get them set up in the Great Hall for now, get some food, and answer some basic questions. Clarence, if you could please get word to Hope?"

"If you have some hot water, I can make tea..." She suggests, her head already feeling full from everything so far

Clio leads them on "Oh Hope will have it all set up, she and Clarence... Don't worry, Baroness. I've got them" And off she goes off leading the FOUR Legged hoof types along

And Hope comes in shortly after "Oh my god... " Then remembering "Baroness. THeyr'e being fed. Pepper washed off and is taking care of reheating some meals"

"Sounds like they've had a hard few weeks..."

"A whole family..."

"It's amazing they've done as well as they have" Hope says "I'm going to set up a few things for them. I actually know Ross. He's talented when it comes to the area. Gave great tours."

"Shame about how hard times are... I am thinking, they'll need big rooms, maybe somewhere on the first level? We can park their RV on my mortal property to keep it safe for now..."

"They've been living in an RV? I can't even fathom" she says then takes a breath "yes I can change some rules around"

A quick hug. "You're a wonder. Let's go get to work."

"Oh my " she hugs back then nods "Indeed. A gift from the Dreaming, three of them really" And off they go to make arrangements
