"Where the furk are ya?" Her mother calls out.

"Coming, ma!"

She pulls a tarp over her project before heading out the shed.

Vanessa eyes her daughter, "YOu up to trouble? You got that sneaky look"

She bats her eyes, soooo wide and innocent. "Moi?"

"Vou," She observes, "Kid, if you destroyed another Flock Camera AGAIN then you know the right thing to do..." ANd she repeats what she said before "Faraday bag it and bring Momma the parts."

She bobs her head in agreement.

"Okay then," She nods slowly. Truth to tell, the folks at Goldfinch have made a habbit of taking those out too so they are an endangered spying device.

"So... don't feed them to les?"

A pause "Well, it would save us on the grocery bill, you can do either," She decides.

Dad walks in, wearing the same innocent expression as his daughter.

Amity widens her eyes MORE, exaggerating the expression to a silly degree.

Her Dad returns it with a sly smile.

"Now I don't trust either one of ya," Vanessa declares.

She grins like the sun at noon.

Dad ahems, it's possible He IS trying to cover something, "Well, honey, we should talk later maybe, you and I," He says to his wife "You know how you're always trying to save money?"

Vanessa arches a brow "WE try to save money, but go on."

Head-tilt.

He goes to her and whispers in her ear.

Vanessa answers "gotta feed" "Vet." "Potty training." "You nuts?"

Puppy.

Sounds like. If only there were some way she could learn the details. Alas, alack. She is but a humble honest pooka.

Her mom maybe fussing and griping but she LOOKS tempted.

She hadn't really considered a dog - but, well, the dogs at the Lodge are nice...

Then her Mom sighs and mutters something to Dad, and Dad's face frowns.

"You know what she really wants is a B-I-K-E" Her Mom says then winces as she recalls her daughter can spell. Oh well what are the odds she was overheard, slim. / Dad nods seeing the point. He frowns but not from anger, just of a realization that that ain't happening.

She ducks her head down. Mom knew? But Amity had been SO GOOD.

It's like Moms can read your brain sometimes. Unless Les told? No, Les wouldn't. Also, if he told, Mom would know that the bike is positively made now thanks to her parts!

"Okay, okay," nods , "Now, how can I help with dinner?" / "You can cook it." Mom says. / "Oh, that would be helpful," He agrees.

"Are we having sketti?"

"We are now," Her Dad smiles "But I need someone to get noodles out o the pantry."

"I don't know WHO could do that." She's already up on her feet and headed that way.

"Fly my pretty, fly!!" Her father tries for a cackle.

While her dad's wicked witch impersonation IS pretty good and a lot o fun, the Pooka may wonder HOW her Mom knows? How much does her mom know? Was it Mom Magic, or does Egon need a kick in his rump? Mysteries abound.

She brings over the pasta, making monkey noises.

That gets her a pat on the head, "If only I had a banana," Her dad winks. And then he gets to work, nimble hands at work , mom already had the right tools out. He's wearing an apron that has a picture of Gene Simmons in full make up with a chef's hat.

There is an apron for her too, it says "Pit Crew"

She dons her apron, and bounces around in Dad's wake.

"What happened to the puppy?"
