Jonas and Siv agree on a lot, and one of things they agree on is that Piper needs to perform, not just teaching at Goldfinch, but actually perform, and not just at any hold either. She needs a chance to sing in a crowd of people, dreamers, non dreamers, sons of adam and daughters of eve. Fortunately, with three parents, baby sitting can be juggled though it's been harder since the grandparents headed to Alaska. But they still make time.
