Patrolling the Barony is a duty. Patrolling on horse back? A pleasure! With Brekke gone, the riding trails patrols have mostly been Dagmar's task. Star is 'dressed' warmly and ignores the cold. Dagmar is free to be herself here as few others ride horses right now. This is more of a chimerical moment.. and they seem to be in abundance! Since the change over, the transition seems to have stirred the local chimerical wild life. New creatures flowing in causing 'standards' to feel territorial!

Dag loves critters, chimerical ones included, and Brekke always valued their safety. As such, so does she.

She hears the sounds the skywolves, snarling and snapping. They're not at play, that's for sure!

And, she hears a feline yowl in return, a deep one!

Star snorts. Sounds like some creatures can't exhibit good horse sense and get along

"Whoa." Gently reining the mare in, just in case. Star is normally bombproof, but no need to be foolhardy.

Star reins in, "Shall we check on what that is or leave it to settle it's own way?" She inquires. Oh yes, lest people forget, she does have a treasure that lets her talk to her horse from time to time. Yay rewards of yesteryear!

"I want to check, but give lots of room. Can't have you be a target, dear heart."

"My irritation at being coddled is overdone only by the assurance that you know how Epona blessed precious I am. Fine, we're both warrioresses but we're not stupid ones" And they approach cautiously

It gets colder.. she feels that, not dissimilar from winter magic but by the time she sees what's making all that noise, she's not as far from the scene as she likes as a mere fifteen feet away, one of the Winged Wolves slams to the ground covered in ice while the other fights on against a lynx crafted of a blue winter

Brow.

So far, this is nature at work. So she stays back.

Indeed... the sky wolves have the advantage of flight, but the winter lynx , welll, teleports is a good word for it, a short range flicker flash one might say. Only in stead of a flash it breaks into snow flurries, reforms and strikes

"Stay out of our territory!" Snaps the wolf who is still free of ice, "Damned cat!"

Hmm. The wolves have a range, but is there part of the Barony that would suit a solitary predator?

"one must hunt!" The Winter Lynx protests then hisses in pain as Silverwing gives a glancing bite. " was not even AFTER your cub!"

Dagmar knows a lot of places that aren't typical skywolf hunting areas, but some of them have other chimerical predators that might get fussy. Fortunately, her own patrols and interests have taught her the lay out of the barony well enough to know the ideal place for the Winter Lynx is not the woods of the Skywolf pack, but rather the craggy hillside near a deserted water tower that has grown over wild again. Lots of high ground, and a sheared hill has turned rocky where only the most nimble footed dare prance. It is ironiclly not too far from her old school, but far enough that clashes shouldn't be typical.

A soft snort. "Shit place for a big cat, this."

And she gently touches knee to Star's side, guiding her - not looking back at the lynx to see how it responded to her pointed comment. It was certainly loud enough to carry.

But Odin was a wise teacher, in the way of cats.

And now, ignoring the feline is key.

The fight goes on as claws return strokes for bite, while the other Sky wolf, hey, she hasn't met that one, slowly breaks out..... but then...

"Wait, what do you mean?" The Winter Lynx shifts to snow and flows away "This place is great, if it wasn't for all the stupid winged DOGS!"

While the fae hounds ARE respected by the Skywolves, NO wolf likes being called a dog, and Silverwing growls in her throat "I'm going to eat all 9 of your lives you mangy feline!"

The skywolf is talking to the Lynx. Dagmar is not.. THIS is.. infuriating, being ignored?

Dagmar is leaving

"Hello, I'm talking to you? " The Lynx reforms near her "EXCUSE YOU? WHat's worng with.."

SIlverwing helps the other sky wolf up and both resume the flying looking tempted to attack again

Dagmar shoots the wolves a quick look. ("Trust me.")

They back up though they flap only a distance away. After all, it seems the cat is leaving if only because Dagmar is.

Star is very good at shunning the unworthy and thus supports Dagmar's play

They move at a nice canter.

The Winter Lynx, no longer being harried, is unaware that it is leaving the area the wolves wanted it to leave. The feline grouses, "The unmitigated gall, the nerve, to inform me, an APEX Predator, thank you very kindly, that I've chosen hunting ground poorly..."

And yes, it follows... pouncing /frost blinking here and there behind them

She hums. Is that a tune from Frozen?

"I will NOT let it go, are you sassing me? One does not sass a mighty Winter Lynx!" a hrumph. Now did it get the right tune? Only Dagmar knows that but the cat is clearly offended, "You, horse! Halt this instant!"

Star is many things but she is not 'you horse' and the shunning somehow increases. Which is weird, how does one INCREASE shunning?

The tiniest of smiles.

"Oh, now this is just rudeness squared? FINE, see if I care!" The Winter Lynx protests...
