"Come in?" He backs out of the door, and makes room for her - He curls easily in the corner where the ceiling is lowest, leaving a goodly spot for her to perch on the bed or at the tiny desk without her head hitting the ceiling.

She ducks in and claims her favored spot on his bed.

He leans over and rests against her side, spending a pleasant long moment just enjoying the company before his whisper speaks up again. "So.... Alaska."

She wraps an arm around him, but he can feel her tense a bit. "Vali's sending me on emissary work. Yeah."

"And I... asked, kinda, to go.. to..."

"It's good work. Important, and needed." He does not pull away, but lightly strokes the arm that wraps around. "Would you like me to come with? Or is this something you would prefer to handle solo?"

"I would always welcome you, you know that. But... I know what this semester is like for you, too."

"Rutgers will always be there. I can always defer. You are important to me."

She rests her chin on his hair. "Vali's sending me to Gwydion holds. So I can meet more of my house."

"As long as I don't need to wear a stuffed shirt and tights, and prance for m'lord and lady." He says. Though, she gets the feeling that even if she did say he must... he might well glower through it.

"I'm not much for prancing, myself. You are half my soul. My House oughta see that clear."

"I'm ever your shadow. The brighter the light that shines on you, the more I stand out - but even in the darkness, I surround you." He says, softly. "If you wish me there, I am there."

"Alaska feels like the easy one, actually. We've got strong ties there already - Sylvi served there before, and Chief and Frank reside within the barony's borders."

"Then I'll travel with you, and when you're all settled, you can spindle me back home in the cheap post." He offers.

"Mm. You could take two stamps. Dunno, I'm kind of a cheapskate. Might just keep you around."

An amused hiss. "Worse things could happen. For example, if Anne Marie gets wind of plans before I'm safely out of Apples, I'll need to lug an entire trunk of sweaters."

"Nevermind the suitcase of earmuffs."

A groan, amused though. "I had hoped you had forgotten those... the cat ears..."
