She snorts and starts walking. "C'mon."

She follows

They come to the stables, and there is the Stablemaster talking to squire "YES boy, of course you need the papers of their lines. No one will take a horse seriously otherwise"

Brow.

The squire rushes off to fetch the papers, and the Stablemaster turns about to see the two knights, and he bows "Heard of your victories, ladies, particularly you, Dame Dagmar. Care to see your choices? "

She nods.

"Since Dee kept her seat, so I don't get to ask for MoonDance." Gentle jibe.

"Excellent" he guides the two into a different section of the stables, "And Lucky Dame Dee is, that's a fine hrose she has, both of you do. But I think you'll find three here worthy of sharing stable space with Star"

Dee elbows Dagmar "Darn straight you don't."

But smiles

"You saying MoonDance and Star couldn't make some fine foals?"

The stablemaster blinks thinking the question for him "Oh they'd be grand, but you always want some more... oh... you mean her. Pardon. I admired both your horses, of course. Told the Count he wouldn't be able to buy either with blood or money"

"No, he wouldn't. Star's been my companion a long time."

"Just so" The Stablemaster nods

"Their foals would be BEAUTIFUL... which is why you should bring her over sometime" Dee smirks

The stablemaster leads them to a corral with three fine horses, f ae steeds all

"That is Lady Ohmsford, an American Cream Draft horse, of course of fae heritage so she can must a bit more fight than those gentle giants if need be, but she's still a delight and kind. Rare but new ish breed, and sizable, 15 hands tall"

"They're NOT normally fighters" he adds "In fact, Lady Ohmsford has been trained in not just jousting, but therapy riding" he explains "So she's a lover who knows how to fight, more than a lovable fighter"

"Therapy? Huh." A nod.

A nodback "The Count knew not all want to breed for aggression"

"Reminds me of Blueberry, that way."

"Fine animal" Dee nods "Could be a balance for over ly agressive lines"

"That's Shea's Truth" The stable master says "Holsteiner breed, speaks for itself there, OLD line, German, and fantastic at show jumping"

Dee whistles at the Stallion "Handsome fellow,and costly I suspect"

"One of the more expensive breeds. While some can be lazy, they excell"

"Dressage, too. They're usually smart."

The stablemaster BEAMS "Oh what a joy, you know your breeds. So many jousters specialize. Oh he's a fine line, excellent papers."

"Mm." The troll nods. That kith can be darn hard to read.

Dee guesses, that the 'papers' don't matter so much to Dagmar as to the stablemaster but says nothing

Then again - Star was a "flawed" horse.

"And this fine Freisien is Great Jax, the most 'war horse' of them all" He says "he enjoys the fight and joust, and once killed a rat that got into the stable near a foal"

"Handsome devil."

"And he knows it" Dee admires "Troll sized that breed"

"So's Ohmsford."

Dee looks over each "Honestly I might go for Shea, if I were you. You've got speed , but a jumper? NONE of them are losers"

"Oh yes, two of them are quite large, but you understand, the Count SUSPECTED odds were good a troll might win" The stable master says

"I have a horse."

"But you can have MORE horse" Dee says "More horse is good"

"This pick is for the Lodge."

"Oh true" A pause "Okay, you talk to the Chief, but if you were to pick which would you? She'll want your opinion"

"Biggest issue with a mare - aside from not adding to lines - is if Star likes her. Someone has to be in charge, y'know?"

"Gentle as Ohmsford is, she'll probably defer"

"But we have a lot of childlings, and a lot of them came by rough ways."

"Stormwake, love him dearly, but he was no good for childlings or gentle folk."

"We do more search and rescue than combat. Or just... healing."
