However - simply leaving would give the cave a chance to move elsewhere.

Indeed, Chawtawk seems to be moving, slowly. Every time she blinks.. it moves a half inch.. closer

"How many beings have you killed?"

"uhm... define beings?" It asks

"Sentient creatures - humans, kith, kin, gallain, sentient chimera."

"The wolves hunt and eat prey. I am fond of deer, but there is a natural balance."

"Well. .then... if you count humans, kith, kinian, gallian AND Sentient Chimera... then.. a dozeN? In my defense they were delicious"

"How many non-chimera?"

"Seven"

"How many humans?" Dagmar can be rather fixed.

He has moves closer and flanking her. by about a half foot. It's hard not to blink

"Four" it answers

"And kithain?"

"Chawtawk chewses to plead the fith" The Cave says

Hoofbeats in the distance

"How many."

"Three" True "You'll be four" It's mouth opens and opens, dwarfing even her!

And she strikes!

Klump moves to try to keep the jaws from closing. Dagmar strikes!

Driving the spike atope the halberd head into the chimera's upper palate.

It proves a wise choice, the regular blade/axe part of it might break on the stone if luck be bad, but the chisel like spike? THAT WORKS VERY WELL!

Cracks appear along the palate, and Chawtawk howls in pain... all is not perfect though, the mold and lichen in the 'cave' spew towards her with it's breath... threatening to choke her

She coughs but does not let it overwhelm her.. which would be very dangerous to do

And then there's an angry horse sound! On the side of the cave, hooves smash against t he side of the wicked Chimera!

And Olgar can be heard calling out "Dags? You in there?!"

"Little help, Rover?"

She has dug in her heels, using the polearm to keep the stone maw from closing.

"Yeah, this is a big mamba jamba"

"It's killed three changelings."

Olgar says "They maybe chimerically dead but still in there if they haven't starved!" His weapon is an axe, not as suited as a chisel bit, and it threatens it ever y time he uses it, but use it he does cracking a 'tooth' of the cave beast

"Four humans."

"Probably dead" Olgar says "But we'll find.."

Dagmar STOMPS a booted heel, summoning a pillar of rock to brace up the mouth.

Flyswatter and Klump both groan as they are strained while trying to hold things up...

and Dagmar realizes Flyswater may break!

Then the brace comes in, spreading the support!

Her Polearm holds

She pulls Flywatter free, and does her best Toph impersonation of hand gestures and foot slides. Another pillar!

Olgar says "I can work with this" And starts to chant "St. Helens , in the 80s she weren't no lady. Her stone got hot and the sky got shady! Folks taking for granted got her heated! Volcano predictions? they were defeated. Magma, lava, call it what you will, when she blew her top the world stood still!"

And the pillars Dagmar created are enhanced, altered... turning and tearing up Chawtawk's inside even more yet somehow going around all others feet

Dagmar backs up to Olgar's side.
