"They tumbled, Siv and the monkey, and it tried to choke her... but Siv had not come unprepared. No weapon as great as Speaker would Siv wield, but neither her sire nor dame would allow any weapon at Rivervale to go blunt and untended. And as the monkey brought it's filthy fangs towards her pale blue throat, Siv managed to reach the spare weapon of the lodge... and while a minor weapon of no name or glory, it was, like Siv herself, quality, and she brought it against his head as they fell off the roof, into the waters.... and Siv proved the more powerful swimmer! Slaying the monkey, she came up victorious, but spent. ...her wounds were great bruises and abraisions. The man was freed, and would later be directed to a social worker named Anne Marie... who has her own stories. But as for young Siv? She returned to home, and when asked under Gwydion's gaze 'how' she had gotten hurt, truthfully said she had been roofclimbing... and had fallen off... into the river's edge. Thus Siv established herself as a hero of Guile, cunning, but her attempts to be clever were always an enemy to her as well. For she ended up grounded for such foolish behavior... but Siv held her head high, proud that she had proven herself a protector dream in truth. It is said that her mother and father, great lovers of coffee, had a little something extra in their mugs that night. If only they'd known? they might have had stronger stuff still." Vegard's voice sounds bemused but sympathetic for the parents, and proud of young Siv "Snip, snap, snout, this adventure is told out"
