Brekke rarely comes to the appartments, but she knows that Piper and Siv are currently at goldfinch, so ... Jonas remains right now

At least, that is the theory. She knocks on the apartment door, hoping that the door will open to reveal nothing that will embarrass her.

There's a sound of... sweeping? and then "Yes? who is it, please?"

"Brekke."

The door opens quickly. "Chief?" He has been cleaning the apartment, clearly, and she has come in while he was doing so. "Please, come in, give me a moment to put somethings away if you would while you have a seat"

"Thank you." She briefly considers telling him not to bother...but then realizes that she doesn't know what he might be putting out of sight, and might be gladder that he does so. She takes a seat where he indicates and regards the living area quietly.

It's actually rather homey in ways. Some of her and Tove's own craftings are in fine use. One wooden chair has a wonderful Owl design. It like the other furntiure is troll sized. Probably more pillows than is necessary on them.

And there's a Norweigan flag on display on one wall.

Jonas puts things away and says "Chieftain, would you like some coffee?"

The decor pleases her.

She shakes her head. "I appreciate the offer, but no, not this time. And I apologize for interrupting your tasks. I did wish to speak with you further, and in private, so it is good to find you home alone."

She doesn't mean it to sound ominous....

Jonas peeks out from the storage closet he just put the broom back in , and arches a brow "Interesting. Is all well?"

"Yes. Still somewhat stunned about the news you three gave us," she allows. "I do have some questions, though. For you."

He nods and rejoins her. "I assure you, I am quite stunned myself still. I did wish to thank you for your and your husband taking such seemingly odd, even by changeling standards, news so kindly. It," He pauses "it meant the world to Siv and Piper that you were so supportive. I do not know if you realize how much"

"I cannot even begin to imagine being in their position. I am glad we were able to allay some of their concerns." A pause. "My questions are not related to that, at least not directly."

"Oh?" He says "I'll try to answer if I can," He asserts

"Thank you. You went questing recently, and for some time. I would like to know more about that quest."

"The quest? Oh my, that.. was the last thing on my mind after I got the news" he seems shocked to have to have forgotten, "Yes, it was much longer than I intended. It was a jumble of symbols and memories... there was a war, but that was near the end. Before that there was a clock maker being chased by a spice merchant..."

She nods. "The Dreaming often remains a jumble. But I wonder what you went questing for."

"Questing for? Oh... yes. I sought out a treasure to help Anne Marie... and the childlings. I... ended up with a box. Three things in it. 'What I sought' , 'what I want' 'what I might need''

Her brow furrows. "And what are those three items?"

"I..." He blinks "I don't remember. I haven't opened the box"

A blink. "You still have the box, yes?"

He looks embarrassed, "Please, forgive me, Chieftain I feel very foolish. I do have it. It's here somewhere. Let me ... it maybe in the bedroom. Please wait here"

"Of course."

He rises and moves into the bed room, closing the door behind him.

A brow at the closing of the door...but she waits patiently.

Sounds of plastic and metal objects hitting floor as things are shuffled around.

A bit of a frown. Perhaps they need a visit from a home cleaner?

Beads hitting the hard wood?

Jonas mutters "Oh for Odin's sake"

Then.. finally "AHA!"

And he returns with a wooden Box "My apologies for that, CHieftain I.. honestly I think I had a mental snap when I first got the news and there was only so much brain available after that" He sets the box down on the coffee table before them

"Completely understandable." She regards the box. "Would you object if I am present when you open it?"

"If you'll forgive the fact that I'm as ignorant as you when I do so and peek the contents?"

She pauses before responding, considering the possibilities of what might be in there. Then she nods. "Understood."

"What I sought" He says reaching into the void of the box almost blindly. He pulls out a picture frame, small

A curious look. Is there a picture in the frame?

A shattered picture of figures she's never seen before.. and he scowls...then it shifts... and it's Jonas, Siv, and Piper and... blurry at the base. "Oh yes. I remember now, it lets one see a family... but in the hands of a boggan, it adds to their social dynamics for family matters such as finding the right parents for the right lost child"

"Of all the things that trouble her most, it's making sure families are healed, and if not existent, found"

"Ah! The help for Anne Marie. Yes, that will be important. She will appreciate that a great deal, I think."

"It's what I wanted to do." He says and sets aside "I ask you not to remark on the first thing you saw to anyone. My family past is just that. Past"

"I will not. But should you ever wish to speak on it, I am willing to hear."

"I appreciate that but .. if I talk of it to anyone it should be Siv and Piper I suppose." He moves to reach for the next "What I might want..."

She nods and lets it alone.

He pulls out some sort of jewelry bit ... before Brekke gets a look at it, his face fosters with confusion, then he turns bright purple "Your pardon. I figured out what sort of jewelry this is... and i don't think my future mother in law needs to see it" And he tucks it away in a pocket
