"Oh, I know. And there's a difference between sentient ones and, y'know, ones that ain't."

"Snow is a person. A fruit-obsessed monkey, yeah, but - right?"

"Exactly, and it's possible she's older than she looks. Who knows? She could have been about for decades, maybe centuries" tove says

Jaymes arches a brow "Yes. she might have stolen apples from Johny Appleseed, or a pie from Ben Franklin. Very historical"

"your father is teasing me" Tove tells Dagmar as if it needed to be said

"Snow's... however old she is, she's an innocent. And we protect innocence."

At that, both of her parents nod with pride at her

"Yup yup" CJ says

"How is Odin liking Campus life?" her mother asks

"He's king of the apartment, that's for sure."

"Oh he's fine then" A smile from her mom

"Cats do not believe in democracy" Jaymes agrees.

"They do not."

"Are you making many friends?" Tove says as breakfast is had. She's trying to get as much mother daughter time as possible before her daughter has to go

"Mm." Noncommittal.

The food is EXTRA tasty when eating it means you don't have to answer

Tove says "yes I know, and she has excellent judgement there"

Tove says "Wonderful. Love to hear about them if you are willing. If not, I understand"

She doesn't REALLY understand, but she tries to out of love

"I mean, they're nice?"

"mmm hmmm, they have common hobbies or is it an opposites attract thing?" She asks

As she works, Tove is assembling a care package of extra food fit to feed a small squad

"Well, some things in common?"

"Such as?" she asks and then adds "Do you want the strawberry pop tarts to go with you or the grape?"

"Strawberry!"

"Strawberry it is then" She slides those in.

CJ looks at his sister incredulously, clearly grape poptarts are superior.

Jaymes looks quietly amused at this rare but inevitable sibling disagreement

"More grape for you, kiddo."

"Yay" He beams

"I think Vali, pardon , MOUNTAIN Vali told him that blue berries and grapes help you turn blue" tove says

Jaymes sighs

She hesitates. "Do... you think?"

"I mean, love him to bits. Don't want him to ever feel left out..."

Jaymes raises a brow ("Think what?")

"oh," Tove guesses "It's possible he will be, but ..." She plays with her son's hair, "As Sally Mae proves, family finds a way in"

"Well, yeah. Just... don't want him to be hurt if he feels different."

"You're a good sister" Tove assures her, "And he probably will, even if he's 'just like us' because everyone does at one time or another, feel different. But we'll celebrate our differences at least as much as our similiarites"

"Yeah."

"Yeah" CJ nods firmly "Our Difaraties"

"He's not afraid of trying new words" Jaymes observes
