Olgar limps with his daughter's help he straightens "Your dad's fine, Sylvi. Pride busted is all"

"Pfft. Everybody's gonna have a bad fight, now and then." She shoots another angry glare back at the kithist knight.

"Hate to say it, not sure I did. Guy's very good." An admission

"That may be..." she says, then raises her voice a bit louder than necessary, "...but he's a prejudiced jerk."

"Ha. Yeah, he is. Looking forward to the Chief beating his ass, or maybe Dagmar" a nod "oh well, I made it to the semi finals so to speak. How are you doing? Enjoying Pennons ... minus that guy anyway?"

"Hm? Oh, yeah! Great day for it," she indicates the bright clear blue sky and the trees beginning to turn colors. "Don't know if you heard -- Piper rocked the flying obstacle course...and then she started shilling for Goldfinch!" she laughs.

"HOw long is that pint sized she goat gonna be in denial about how big a part of that hold she is?" Olgar doesn't say it cruelly "Girl's got commitment issues with freeholds"

"She and I had a talk about it a few weeks back. She wasn't quite clear where she stood with Goldfinch, but I made it clear...it's hers, the studio part, and she's doing us a favor by letting us have the hold there, too."

"Right to her horned head eh?" A smile though

"Yeah. I think it got through this time." She checks how he's walking. "You want me to give you a little Spring boost? Or do you want to see Mom, get a cookie?"

"I'll be seeing your mom, but no need for me to be wimpy about it" with effort he straightens his back "Your mom has enough to worry about without fussing over me. Got her own contests"

"Oh, yeah, I heard she did a bunch of apple stuff? Dumplings, pies, donuts...."

"I thought she'd go with something nutty, walnuts being peak this year. then again, knowing your mom she's created some walnut apple cake thing no one has seen before in her own version of 'Bring it'"

He blinks "Huh"

"Well, apples and walnuts are a great combo..." She notes his expression. "What?"

"Is the single earring a new Gen Z thing? " He asks

Her turn to blink. "Huh?" She reaches up to her ears, finds one earring, but not its twin. "Oh no!" A pout, and she looks at the ground around her, without much hope of spotting it.

"It's okay, " He assures her "We'll put out word with the lost and found so when clean up happens they know to look for it"

"I guess...." she says, taking off the remaining earring (a clever arrangement of tiny metal leaves in autumn colors). Then she pauses. "Oh, wait...did he do it to me again?"

The last said more to the air than to her father. She's looking over to where the Rivervale crew is still grouped by the lists.

Looks like Madern is cleaning Lut and tig's gear

"I swear...Dad, I think I know where it is. You okay?"

"Yeah, you go ahead" he says "The healers here are decent enough to get me upright. I'll go harrass your mom, place a few bets. the usual"

A smile "Or you can hang near your old man, which is also welcome"

"Well, I just want to get this back now. I had to wait a month to get my ring back." Without further explanation, she kisses her dad's cheek, then turns to go over to where Madern's at work.

Madern finishes up the polishing of a hammer

"Mad Ernie," Sylvi says as she comes up. "I think you did it again."

"I did.. oh, yeah, " He pulls out the ear ring 'Sorry, I mean, we don't steal stuff of value so much of stuff that's cool. ANd this is really cool" He offers it up

"Thanks," she says, "but they look better when I have both of them." She takes a step back from him after he returns the earring, making sure both earrings are in place.

They are "Oh no denying , not that you need them to look pretty, " A smile " i think you help them more than they'd ever help you. "

Okay, that gets a smile. "Oh, okay, that was smooth."

"Thanks, I've been practicing" A chuckle "Easy to do when it's true"

"Wow," a laugh. "Practicing? On who, hm?"

"Oh, female lacrosse team, theyre cool" He smiles "Gwen's a member. I serve as a towel boy. Gwen herself is off limits though" more seriously "She and Chuck are long distance, but theyre still a thing you know? I don't vulture"

"That's cool. Well, anyway, thanks for this back," she says, gesturing to the earring.

Then Brekke approaches. "Sylvi, is your father well?"

"Oh! Yes, Chieftain. I mean, he's not happy or anything, but he's going to be okay. I'm more angry than he is, I think."

"Angry?" Brekke's brow furrows.

Sylvi nods, and she explains the Aesin knight's parting words.

"I almost challenged him, but like any bully, he worded things in such a way that he can't be held to blame for it."

"Besides," Sylvi admits, "I couldn't have fought him and won, and fighting him and losing would just make things worse."

"I could borrow something from him, just to piss him off " Madern offers

Brekke's frown has grown deeper, and she looks across the ring to where the Aesin knight is taking a breather. "Hm. I see. Noted."

Sylvi's eyes widen at Madern's suggestion, and she gives Brekke a glance.

Brekke doesn't say anything at first, but then she shakes her head. "That will not be necessary." She looks to Sylvi. "Tell your father he did well."

"I will, Chieftain. Thank you."

Brekke moves back to watch the fighting, her expression thoughtful.

Dagmar, meanwhile, is checking over her gear and resting.

When Brekke is out of earshot, Sylvi murmurs to Madern, "Are you serious? You'd do that?"

And Dagmar is up again! "Dame Dagmar against Butch Growly, of Teaneck"
