After verifying that May and her family have safely evacuated, Brekke got to work on figuring out the Heatherbalm on the house...and whether it might take more than one. Of course, the sheer weight of the snow needs to be cleared away, first. Which is good troll-appropriate work.

May is in the hospital, but yup, the trolls gather

The trolls.... AND a pooka!

Frank offers her a chunk of lightning-blasted black walnut, and her favorite carving knife. In his other hand, he holds a snow shovel.

Connor is rolling snow out of the house via snowball

Soon the yard will be filled with them - snowmen, women, children, and other things, that is!

A brow at Frank. "Hm. Perhaps. There is...not much to spare." She pockets the wood and the knife. "Snow, first."

Lut shows up with a sowshovel of his own

Dagmar is NOT panicking.

She isn't.

But she is working VERY hard.

Connor's tail is wagging, and he brought snacks... well, carrots. Well, now they are noses.

Items that have been damaged are set in more secure locations.

Jonas whispers something to Siv

Siv blinks "We can DO that?"

Siv has been shoveling a bit slow, her shoulder bothering her

Sylvi, an old hand at snow-removal projects, moves to work at Dagmar's side. "We've got this," she reassures her.

"We should ..." Jonas says "technically, a snow pile is 'one thing' so Go Ask Alice to shrink the piles..."

"It's May's house."

Frank nods and gets to shovelin'.

First, make a place for the snow to go, then put the snow there; no reason to shovel-in someone's car....

Sylvi nods to Dagmar. "And we'll clean it up and fix it," she says reasonably.

"...yeah, yeah. We will."

Brekke follows Frank's lead on organizing the snow disposal, and directs others similarly. Shovel after shovel after shovel gets moved.

Of course, the snow keeps coming down, hard cold winnds carrying more snow to replace. Brekke is an old hand. this is NOT her mood, nor does it feel like the Autumn'sbane

Connor is still rolling out snow, he is getting tired without troll stamina to back him up, but still he works without complaint!

Somebody gets sent to obtain tarps from the local boggan builders. Once those arrive, they're rigged to at least limit the amount that's getting back in.

Of course, with dangers of Chimera, not everyone can be here on this project

others patrol

Once feasible, she surveys the damage again.

the hole in the roof is a big one, six feet across, four feet wide

Connor gazes up at the hole, squinting as snow blows in his eyes. "If you make the hole go away, won't they miss it?"

"We'll have to sort that out later, Connor," Sylvi says. "Hey, how 'bout you make some snow sprites for a bit?" She can see he's tired, and he's done a LOT of work.

"I can make angles! All sorts of degrees..."

He flops over into the snow on the lawn, and lies there.

Sylvi grins and keeps working, making sure to check on him now and then.

Siv works slower than usual, but she does work. Jonas gestures at the incoming snow and the flakes grow smaller, for a time

"Up the sail and up the line / up the mast in nick of time..." Brekke recites an old sea chant she recalls and gives a jump to get up to the top of the roof.

And she makes it.. the roof groans a bit but this part holds

She keeps as still as possible once there, and gives a quick look around. It hasn't escaped her notice that this might be chimera-work, and there might be some left, yet.

None about, fortunately.

Brekke considers the knife and piece of wood in her belt pouch...but shakes her head, and instead launches into a sing-song verse in her native tongue. Those who know it understand it to be a poem in praise of Sif, in her place as overseer of home and hearth. The words seep into the shingles and beams as the heatherbalm goes to work.

Frank glances over as she sings; his beard moves.

Board by board, bi by bit, it pops into place

She regards the healing roof with satisfaction.

She takes another look around to make sure that there are no threatening branches overhead that might put the roof right back in peril.

"Good work mom" Siv woops

A nod to Siv, another to Frank, and she turns to face the edge of the roof, whirling Speaker overhead like a helicopter rotor to facilitate her hopscotch back down.

Frank pauses to watch a moment in mid-scoop.

"We shall fight in the shade" someone quips. Wait, Vali isn't here
