At Goldfinch Recording studios, a very special night has come for this unloved (by most) and neglectted building

Sylvi has sent a blast text out to the inner circle of wilders and childlings...and there are a few grumps here as well. TXT: IT'S ON. Get over to Goldfinch Recording studios at (address)!

Piper may not have any hand in the magical aspects, but she DOES have elbow grease, and has done what she can to spruce up the building - cleaning the windows panes that are intact, sweeping and mopping floors.

Zane comes up as well "What is such the big deal that you wanted me to leave Darkgate for the night?"

Siv and Jonas , of course,come with Piper "What's this about?" Siv asks

Even Brekke, Frank, Kerri, Olgar, and Vali are there. And it's not hard to tell that the item that Brekke is carrying, covered in a heavy cloth, is casting glamour.

Piper is BURSTING at the seams, but has managed to not let it slip, other than talking about the Studio as-is…

"Piper, this place is really coming together."

Vali , for once, is not wearing knight spuurs or even signs of his house

"Zane, thank you...I'm really glad you made it. I promise, you'll see why."

She grins up at Brekke. “Aye aye, Chieftain. It’s been… kinda nice, having something to work on. I mean, something meaningful…”

Dagmar lurks near the grumps, on guard with Flyswatter.

Zane gets a headbutt! “Dumb Jerk! Running off….” And then a hug. “Glad you made it, cuz.”

Kerri looks like she might burst with pride for some reason.

Sylvi looks around at the group, biting her lip. She sends a quick text to Symon. TXT: Can you make it? It's important. Please?

Symon doesn’t respond to the text… but she gets poked in the arm from behind. “I’m here. I’m just not… loud, or tall.”

“You think I’m gonna miss this secret that has you puffed up like roadkill four days in the sun?”

She jumps a bit at the poke, then grins when she sees him. "Good. Thank you."

"Uh...thanks?" At that description. "And ew?"

Dirk says "What the fuck's goingg on?"

Thumbs up from Symon, and he looks around, spotting Dagmar and heading that way.

Then she takes a breath and says, "Everybody...." to quiet the chatter. "Everybody, thanks for being here."

The raccoon sits upright curious

"I know I've been weird lately, and I'm sorry about that, but you'll get it in a few minutes, I promise. So, um...I know the Lodge leaders are here..." she nods to them respectfully. "But they won't be staying for very long. We've got something to do that doesn't exactly involve them."

Brekke chuffs a bit of amusement, but nods. "Agreed."

Olgar grunts but nods

Symon raises a brow at that.

Kerri nods too, watching Sylvi very seriously.

Sylvi looks around. "Um...Chieftain, can Dagmar stay for the...thing? I know she's oathed to you, but...I think she fits here, too?"

Brekke considers with a raised brow for a moment, but then nods solemnly. "That is up to Dagmar. I have no objection."

Symon frowns a bit at this request. He whispers, “Why couldn’t Dagmar stay?”

A smile from Sylvi, and she grins to Dagmar, and then squares her shoulders. "Okay, so...let's begin."

She apparently doesn't hear Symon.

Kerri does, though, being closer. "You'll see," she whispers to him.

Symon’s frown deepens a touch, but he waits, listening.

Sylvi steps up to Brekke, takes a deep breath, and says, "Chieftain, I understand there is something that needs to be done, and you have trusted me to do it. Will you allow me to undertake this task now, and in this place?"

Brekke nods. "It is the right time, and the right place, and you are the right person to do this. I am entrusting you with a great responsibility. You know this. Do not fail."

Sylvi gulps, but nods.

Brekke presents the item she carries, and draw the cloth away from it, revealing a lantern carrying a dim glow, a little spark of what is obviously balefire.

Symon recognizes this and clearly puts two and two together - gaze snapping from the ember, to the Chief, to Sylvi.

Vali whispers something to Tiffay

Dag does stay, though her expression is... stoic.

Zane's eyes widen

She looks around the group. "This balefire is entrusted to the commoners of this barony, and to Sylvi as its holder. Its future is in her hands." And she passes the lantern to Sylvi, who takes it reverently.

A deep breath, and she quietly says, "Thank you, Chieftain." A bow.

Brekke returns the bow...and then looks to the other grumps from the Lodge. "Come. This is not our time to be present."

Olgar nods "Have fun, kids. "

She turns to lead the departing party. Kerri gives her daughter an encouraging look before she goes.

A slight droop on the Gwydion's shoulders, hesitating.
