A pause

then Txt: There's been a shooting

a long pause

TXT: what?

TXT: It's on the local news. Your dad's store... oh I'm so sorry)

There's a crack - Dag's precious smartphone is crushed, glass crazing and metal warping.

Well, that's that for the smartphone. Any other texts distorted

"MOM! Take CJ and go to the lodge!"

Tove comes up carrying CJ sees her look "Dagmar? What's goingg on?" She hasn't been listeningg to the news either

"Tove, you have to go to the lodge please."

"Please!" She's gone pale beneath the blue.

"I will" She nods, "Come with us?" She is already gathering things to take for the baby

"No, I have to go get Dad."

"You have to protect CJ, please."

"Go, Daughter. I'll protect CJ" She nods "At the lodge" And she moves!

Dagmar swallows and nods before grabbing Flyswatter.

Her motorcycle is in shambles, but the store isn't far. She grabs her old bike and books it as fast as her legs can take her.

Connor sits on the Barn porch, swinging his legs on the railing. "No one home." he pouts.

Annd that's when May comes into view hurrying , carrying a tray of brownies

Connor has seen her before, though she's a mugle she is a nice one

And the sun has gone down. That's okay but geez

how longg is one's knight out?

The boy looks a bit odd, like he's playing at Huckleberry Finn summer attire, with his broad rimmed straw hat that dips onto his forehead, and a... cape on his back? But he seems happy enough, despite the odd outfit.

"I know you. Hi!"

He waves, eager to see someone finally.

"Where's Dddddd...... darn' ol' Sam at?"

"that's what I want to know, uhm.. Connor right?" May tilts her head

"Yeah! Except today I'm Huckleberry Hound." He taps the hat. "She's been gone for-ev-er." His nose twitches at the tray she carries, and he sighs longingly. "Those smell good."

"Oh... well, I was just goinng to hand them over to Mrs. King. I'm sure she'll let you have one..."

And then a figure steps out of the shadows. he's dressed in a slightly rumpled suit

Connor blinks at him, sniffing the air. Perhaps to May it looks like he's trying to whiff the brownies again, but instead, he's looking to see if he knows this guy...

"Come'on up the porch." He waves for May to join him closer to the building.

He doesn't smell right

But not tamiliar no

Fingers in his mouth, and he gives a piercing whistle. If Oak is in earshot...

"Sure I.. wow, you got a set of lungs" She says

"Shit" The rumpled suit man curses and charges forward, grabbing May

"Thanks, I keep them near and dear to my heart!" He grins at her. "That means stranger dang-HEY!"

"Back off, kid. I only need one hostage..."

"Hostage?" May squrms

"Sleep" His eyes gaze into hers "Sleep"

He does not back off, but actually darts forward. The hardest part he has is his head, and he zips with lightning (or rather, quicksilver) speed towards the man, and if he can manage it, butts him RIGHT IN the stomach or groin!
