"So what is it you wanted to talk to us about?" Tove asks Dagmar while they are at the dinner table

Jaymes adds "Everything okay?"

Tove looks curious "Anything new you wanted to tell us about?"

"Soooo..."

"So. Like. Chief came to talk to me."

"mm hmm" Jaymes nods

"She asked if I would want to oath fealty to her. Knight to Baroness."

Jaymes raises a brow and mmms ("How do you feel about that?")

"Mm." (Complicated)

Tove says "You have been acting as if you had the oath anyway" Consideringg "Perhaps she feels you deserve the benefits as you already do the duty and bring honor to Rivervale?"

A slow nod. "I mean, oath or not, I'd defend Rivervale. I just... they're serious business, you know? But.. but,like, I like the Oaths I have."

Jaymes gives a bit of a smile at that and mmm ("And we are delighted you chose to be our daughter")

Tove nods "We like them too. Do you worry this will diminish other oaths you have somehow?" Curious tilt

Brow furrow. "No."

"Just... everything feels so unsteady right now."

Jaymes grunts ("Sylvi and Nadeen moving out upset you- We noticed")

Tove says "Maybe she thinnks this will help hold things steadier . She doesn't like change either"

"...yeah."

"But" Tove continues "You should never swear an Oath if you don't want to"

"I think I want to. Maybe."

"I... she said if I got into college, I could still go."

Jaymes grunt/nods ("Good.")

Tove agrees "If you think you want to, but aren't sure, ask her for some time to think it over, say a month? But i am pleased she realizes that it's good to encourage and a llow new skils"

"I don't really want to go anywhere. I like it here. But I'm worried, like, with everything changing..."

She nods. "Chief was real square with me. Said it was okay to say no, or to wait until I was done with school..."

Jaymes nods again "I like your aunt. She is a wise leader."

"I don't think she'd use the oath to screw around with me, you know? Like, I'd listen to her anyways..."

"Maybe I should get her to order you to get your dirty clothes from under your bed?" her mom grins

"Hey!"

"They aren't that dirty..."

She shakes her head and chuckles

Jaymes sips his coffee, carefully not taking sides.

"They're too dirty to wear" She says "Or I wouldn't want to have them washed"

"They smell okay."

"They're just too dirt to go back in the drawer..."

Tove grunts ("Mmm daughter's nose no work")

"They smell good enough for horses."

"So, like, everything after horses gotta be washed, right?"

"So I can wear it first for regular, then wear it for horses..."

"No" She simply says "It so does not work that way" but she smiles "Did talking about the oath help you decide what you prefer on it?"

She frowns. "But then I have regular clothes AND horse clothes."

Tove says "I'll think about it"

"...What if I had a semi-dirty-but-okay-for-horses hamper?"

"mmm" She grunts thinking it over

"Just sayin'."

Jaymes chuckles

"Did talking about the oath help you decide what you prefer on it?" Tove repets the part that wasnn't answered
